Probowl, (CP) – When Ray Lewis got off the plane from his cross-country flight and was greeted with a lei and aloha, he finally struck it was voted back on the island.

“Then you say,” OK. “I did it again.” You really appreciate it, “All-Pro linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens said.” This is the reward. With the Pro Bowl being here is the reward. ”

Pro Bowl Sunday marks the return to Hawaii – where he had been since 1980 – after spending a year in Miami in the NFL experience to combine business-Star game with the Super Bowl.

“That’s where everybody wants to go,” said tight end Tony Gonzales Atlanta Falcons, making his 11th appearance leading NFC Pro Bowl.

Hawaii is the payment of U.S. and 4 million per game to keep the Pro Bowl this year and in 2012, when Indianapolis hosts the Super Bowl. Pro Bowl but the site has not been determined beyond, with the 2013 Super Bowl scheduled for New Orleans and 2014 scheduled for East Rutherford, NJ

But Hawaii, which became synonymous with the Pro Bowl, is in shock and 844 million projected deficit for the past 2 1 / 2 years.

Neil Abercrombie governor in his first State of the State address on Monday suggested diverting some of the 44 million and the Hawaii Tourism Authority dedicated to marketing infrastructure needs.

The Democrat and former congressman wants longstanding also decide the fate of the 50,000 seats aging Aloha Stadium, home to the Pro Bowl. He said that other maintenance related to health and safety, “I will return all other funds for capital improvements to Aloha Stadium for other projects.”

We do not know what that means for the future of the Pro Bowl in Hawaii, but they will play the key points in future negotiations between the NFL and the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

If players have their say, they clearly want the game to stay in the islands.

“There is no better place for it,” Indianapolis Colts Peyton Manning said the quarterback.

Falcon’s fullback Ovie Mughelli Atlanta said there was no comparison between Hawaii.

“I have nothing against Florida, but Hawaii is Hawaii,” he said. “For the guys who worked hard in mini-camp, training camp, the off-season and go through bumps and bruises, I feel so Hawaii is a better way to reward them than just going to Miami. ”

Lewis, who lives in Miami and played at the University of Miami, said he had the game at home would not be a reward for the players because they play in Florida for the season.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said: “We can go to Miami any time. Go to Hawaii, on the water, is special. ”

Even the Miami Dolphins linebacker Cameron Wake prefers Hawaii.

“To have the Pro Bowl in Miami, I just drive down the street, it’s not as much fun as coming here and move away from this beautiful city,” Wake said. “The view is fantastic. People were so friendly and so nice. I put in a vote for Hawaii. My vote is”

The players say the tropical landscape and weather cannot be beaten. Temperatures this week have been mostly warm, perfect for the Pro Bowl who went golfing, fishing, jet skiing and visited Pearl Harbor with their families.

“It’s like heaven. I’m going to die and go to Hawaii. It’s fine with me, “Houston Texans running back Arian Foster.

Some players even hit the waves like Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Lloyd. But a quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles Michael Vick was not going anywhere near a surfboard.

“I do not surf,” said Vick. “I watch National Geographic too, and I’ve seen too many catastrophic situations.”

The players also spent much time basking in the hotel pool or one of the lagoons at Ko Olina Resort. And recruits were asked – because they are the only ones struggling with the heavy food and drink tabs.

“Everybody tried to get my room number, but I tried to keep secret,” New England Patriots rookie corner Devin McCourty said. “As long as they do not get my room number, I’m going straight.”

Tennessee Titans rookie kick returner Marc Mariani said he had several tabs collection and knows the damage when he checks the hotel.

“The guy who makes the least is to buy drinks for the top dogs,” he said with a laugh. “But that’s fine. We’re having fun.”

Senior Bowl 2011

Senior Bowl 2011, The two most productive receivers in the history of Boise State – Austin Pettis and Titus Young – will play for the North, on Saturday in the main bowl in Mobile, Ala. The game is the first all-star game for the NHL draft prospects NFL. The duo spent the week practicing in front of mobile NFL scouts, coaches and general managers. By Wednesday, Pettis met with representatives of nearly half the league teams. “The only part of the nerves talking to coaches,” said Pettis. “You always want to make sure you say the right things.”

Pettis, chief of the Broncos of all time in receptions and touchdowns receiving, and youth, the leader of all time in receiving yards, drew praise from scouts and analysts in the mobile. They were presented on the home page of NFL.com Thursday. Youth, especially, grabbed the spotlight. Many analysts have compared to Philadelphia Eagles star DeSean Jackson, one of the main threats and profound NFL punt returners.

“They knew he had speed, but we always get this thing on the WAC and not playing the best caliber of players,” said Pettis. “He did the same thing here and there

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. Potter considered the No. 2 offensive tackle in the class and Martin as the No. 4 stopper. While we wait for the kickoff to Senior Bowl at 1:00 p.m. Pacific, I thought it about time for the 2011 edition of our database project annual comp. The first database arose in 2009 and continued last year. In the past, I started the database earlier in the offseason, but I think Monday will be as good a time as any to start this database. Adjustments have been made for Senior Bowl week and practice the game, which means that we have the main game Star All adjustments in place.

Last year we had 30 sites listed in our database and I think we’ll do the same this year. The database will initially be updated every week as we move increasingly towards the project, I’ll update more often. I’ll play it by ear, according to the speed with which different sites are updated. In addition, rather than simply update the page, I’ll also offer places on the front page when we update the database. Currently, if you look at the 2010 all you see is the last day prior to the project. There is no sense of how the model projects developed during the NFL Draft season. Therefore, as I update the database I’ll post the results in a post in a new section called NFL Mock Draft, so you can follow how things develop over the coming months.

Regarding the sites we use, the main reason for this post was to give the floor to suggestions for model projects that you particularly like. I use a mixture of leading sites (ESPN, CBS Sports, etc.) combined with random sites I find other databases mock draft. There’s nothing particularly scientific about our process, but I would try to get 30 sites, which are all pretty legitimate and well thought out. As you look through the database of last year, are there some that we should dump this? I will consider any suggestions you may have.
