Newt Gingrich Brad Pitt Movie

Newt Gingrich Brad Pitt Movie, Time to get the old-man makeup from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – Newt Gingrich thinks Brad Pitt should play him in a movie.

The GOP White House hopeful, who never suffers from a shortage in the ego department, immediately mentioned the Hollywood hunk’s name when asked who should be cast in a movie about his life.

“Brad Pitt,” Gingrich told syndicated radio host Rick Stevens late Wednesday.

Although the Republican presidential contest has often resembled a scene from Fight Club, even Gingrich admitted that seeing Pitt isn’t exactly like looking in a mirror

“No, I don’t look like him at all,” Gingrich said. “He’s thinner, he’s better looking, he’s younger.”

“But you asked me if I could have anyone who could play me in a movie,” Gingrich mused, “why not go for Brad Pitt?”

Pitt, an avowed Democrat, has not weighed in on Gingrich’s idea, though it would seem that others – including Philip Seymour Hoffman, the late Leslie Nielsen or Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz – would be better suited to play the presidential candidate.

There are also several Websites devoted to the uncanny resemblance of a young Gingrich to the actor Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute on the NBC show The Office.

Gingrich’s suggestion of having an A-lister play him on the silver screen is just the latest time that the ex-speaker has compared himself with a luminary.

During this primary season alone, he has drawn parallels between himself and Charles de Gaulle, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

Newt Gingrich Brad Pitt, We know Newt Gingrich has a healthy ego but this is getting ridiculous. Politico reports that during a radio interview on Tuesday, the former House speaker was asked, “If Hollywood was going to do a movie about your life, who would you like to see play the role?” Gingrich’s answer: Brad Pitt. “I don’t look like him at all,” Gingrich correctly noted. “He’s thinner, he’s better looking, he’s younger. But you asked me if I had anyone who could play me in a movie, why not go for Brad Pitt?”

We’re having a hard time visualizing Pitt in the role (although the photoshopped picture to the left helps) but maybe you, fellow PopWatchers, have some better ideas for who should play Newt? William Shatner? John C. Reilly? Andy Serkis? Let the casting notes fly
