Save The Navy Seals

Save The Navy Seals:Three U.S. Navy Seals are facing a court-martial for their role in capturing a terrorist, Ahmed Hashim Abed.

Representative Dan Burton (R-IN) is leading a Save the Seals campaign to persuade the Pentagon to dismiss the charges against the three.

The sailors are accused of punching Abed in the mouth; which caused him to incur a bloody lip during his capture.

Abed is said to be the lead planner of the murder of four Blackwater employees who were deployed to deliver catering supplies in Fallujah. Abed reportedly set the victims on fire and hung them from a bridge.

Suh For Heisman

Suh For Heisman:It’s official. Toby Gerhart is headed to New York.

He’s one of five finalists for the Heisman, along with Texas QB Colt McCoy, Florida QB Tim Tebow, Alabama TB Mark Ingram and Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh.

No surprises there.

The Heisman can invite as many players as it wants and makes the determination based on voting. This year, the race is wide open — especially after McCoy struggled against Nebraska.

The presentation is Saturday evening at the Nokia Theatre at Times Square.

I think Suh’s the best player but has little chance because of his position.

The question, it seems, is whether McCoy and Ingram split the first-place votes.

If that’s the case, then maybe Gerhart earns enough second-place votes to sneak past them.

It’s hard to envision him winning the award on the strength of first-place votes given that Stanford lost four games and he was largely an unknown commodity to many voters until the middle of the season.
