Tonya Harding, Tonya Harding Maxen (born November 12, 1970) is an American figure skating champion. In 1991, she won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and placed second at the World Championships. It was the second woman and first American woman to complete a triple axel jump in competition.

She became famous after her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, conspired with Shawn Eckhardt and Shane Stant to attack Harding skating rival Nancy Kerrigan at a practice session at the Championships U.S. Figure Skating 1994.

Harding was born in Portland, Oregon, daughter of Lavon and Al Harding. She had a half-brother, Chris Davison (deceased). Her father had health problems that sometimes made him unable to work. Harding said her mother physically abused her, a request of her mother refuses. Harding began skating at an early age. She landed her first triple lutz at age 12. His mother did a lot of skating costumes.

She stopped attending school during her second year and later earned a GED. She began to receive invitations to international skating competitions while she was still in junior high school [citation needed]

She married Jeff Gillooly in 1990, when she was 19. Their tumultuous marriage ended in divorce in 1993, when she was 22. She married at age 42, Jens Joseph Price on June 23, 2010.

Harding became infamous in collaboration with January 6, 1994 against rival Nancy Kerrigan. The widely publicized attack took place during a practice session for the Championships 1994 U.S. Figure Skating in Detroit. Harding’s former husband, Jeff Gillooly, and her bodyguard, Shawn Eckardt, Shane Stant hired break Kerrigan’s right leg so that she would be unable to skate. Stant followed Kerrigan in Detroit after failing to find her team has training in Massachusetts, and hit in the thigh a few inches above the knee with a collapsible baton. Kerrigan leg was only bruised, not broken, but the injury forced her to withdraw from the national championship. Harding won that event, and Kerrigan and Harding both were selected for the Olympic team 1994. After Harding accepted to help cover the attack, the USFSA and United States Olympic Committee initiated proceedings to withdraw from the Olympic team, but Harding retained her place after threatening legal action. She finished eighth in Lillehammer, while Kerrigan, by then fully recovered from her injuries, finished second.

The attack on Kerrigan and the news of her alleged involvement Harding led to a media frenzy of news coverage saturation. Harding appeared on the cover of two magazines Time and Newsweek in January 1994. Journalists and television news crews attended Harding practices in Portland and camped out in front of the house of Kerrigan. CBS attributed Connie Chung to follow every movement of Harding in Lillehammer. Have 400 members of the press jammed into the practice rink in Norway, Scott Hamilton complained “the world press turned the Olympics in any event sensational tabloid. The delayed broadcast of the short program in the Games Olympics remains one of televisions most watched in U.S. history.

Tonya Harding entered the world of celebrity sex tape with the appearance of a pornographic “Wedding Video” which showed her sexual relationship with her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly. Gillooly, who, shortly after the scandal began to fade from prominence and changed his name to Jeff Stone, sold the tape to a tabloid show after having been implicated as a conspirator in the attack Kerrigan. Pnthouse published stills from the tape in September 1994, and the tape was released at about the same time. Harding tried to distance herself.

Fallen skater says she is “super excited” about her first child, reports ABC News. Harding would have got pregnant soon after she started dating 42 years, Price, a repairman from Portland. In 1991, Harding won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and placed second at the World Championships. She is highly regarded and recognized as one of the best skaters in the world of women. However, she rose to prominence after her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly conspired to attack the skating rival Nancy Kerrigan his wife during a practice session at the Championships U.S. Figure Skating 1994. After an investigation into the attack, in which Ms. Kerrigan in the knee was clubbed, Harding received three years probation, 500 hours of community service and fined and 160,000. Under the plea bargain, she was also forced to withdraw from the championship.

melinda duckettMelinda Duckett:The latest news has Grace’s lawyers trying to ban cameras from videotaping her being questioned about a woman, Melinda Duckett, who killed herself after Grace interviewed her.

Melinda contacted the police on August 27, 2006 and reported Trenton missing. She said someone had entered her residence and kidnapped him. The focus of the investigation eventually turned toMelinda. The initial theory being that she had handed the child off to someone she knew. Melinda was eventually narrowed down to the sole person of interest.

nancy graceA kidnapping by a stranger is a statistical rarity. Melinda adamantly denied any involvement. As would be expected the entire tabloid machine quickly revved into jet motion looking for any angle to create content and keep the drama alive until resolution for better or worse.
