Anti-family Stickers, TS-EX- company that produces a range of anti-My Family stickers has defended their controversial car decals depicting a family of four in hangman’s nooses.
The Courier-Mail reports Mark Trueno from the Brisbane-based Street FX said the “F@#! Your Family” stickers had proven to be very popular with his company selling over 10,000, at a cost of about $9 each.
“While the original intention of these stickers was nothing more than a joke, it turned into one of our highest-selling stickers,” said Mr Trueno.
He said he was concerned the My Family stickers, which are made by a Gold Coast company, amounted to a security risk because they advertised how many people and animals reside at a property.
“If we can discourage just a few people every week from putting those stickers on their car, we have potentially saved a family from being robbed, assaulted, a single mother attacked, or a defenceless goldfish stolen from its tank,” said Mr Trueno.
“A few people may be offended in the process, but what is worse in the scheme of things?”
The Courier-Mail reported on Saturday that police had declared the “hangman” stickers to be legal, providing they did not obscure a driver’s view of the road.
