Mtv Music Awards 2010, The MTV Video Music Awards are back and the only certainty is that there will be some controversy for the indignation, delight and mystify depending on their demographics.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles starting at 9 pm ET. Comedian Chelsea Handler will host, and musical performances are scheduled Eminem, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Drake, BoB, Kanye West, Justin Bieber and others.

Last year the biggest furor was interrupted Kanye West Taylor Swift acceptance speech. The big mystery was: Swift is really talented, why mess with it now? If you are going to interrupt someone, why not boats on the Russell Brand and his monologue horrible? The public could have given West a special award for that.

This year, the big question is whether the West and Taylor will stage a kind of public act of apology / forgiveness or even acting together, as the rapper has tweeted who has written a song for the young country star. If the pair do anything together, talk, sing, rap, even peep about the other in the air, which is sure to get the blogosphere buzzing.

Speakeasy will be live-blogging the awards from 8:45 pm ET.

Here’s a look at some of the main categories of tonight’s VMAs and some thoughts, opinions and predictions:

Video of the Year:

Lady Gaga, ‘Bad Romance’

Florence + The Machine, ‘Dog Days are over ”

30 Seconds To Mars, Kings and Queens ”

Lady Gaga with Beyoncé, “Phone”

Eminem, “Not Afraid”

B.o.B with Hayley Williams, ‘Planes’

Lady Gaga is likely to win this, but it’s great that the little known but very talented, Florence & The machine has a nod. Eminem is pretty good too, although the video does not meet the track.

Best Male Video

Lady Gaga, ‘Bad Romance’

And Ke, “Tik Tok”

Katy Perry with Snoop Dogg, ‘California gurls’

Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga, “Video Phone (Extended Remix)”

Taylor Swift, “Fifteen”

Swift song is the best written of this group, but because the album is the wine he was about Taylor Swift 15 years (or so it seems), Lady Gaga (with Beyoncé), would continue its sweep here .

Best Male Video

Eminem, “Not Afraid”

Usher with Will.I.Am, “OMG”

B.o.B with Hayley Williams, ‘Planes’

Drake, “find your love”

Jason Derulo, ‘In My Head’

Eminem has its fans, but it was a good year for Drake and very good year for the song “Airplanes.”

Best Collaboration

B.o.B with Hayley Williams, ‘Planes’

Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga, “Video Phone (Extended Remix)”

3OH! Ke and 3 with “My First Kiss”

Jay-Z & Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind”

The VMAs may be in Los Angeles, but have to give something to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys “Empire State of Mind”, which seemed to be everywhere during the last year or so. However, “Aircraft” may be a strong contender.

Best New Artist

And Ke, “Tik Tok”

Jason Derulo, ‘In My Head’

Justin Bieber with Ludacris, ‘Baby’

Nicki Minaj with Sean Garrett, ‘Massive Attack’

The bells are broken, ‘The Ghost Inside’

Justin Bieber is a superstar, and Ke is a shooting star, and Nicki Minaj is a rising star. But Bieber has to get something, and may have this honor.

Breakthrough Video

Dan Black, “Symphonies”

Gorillaz with Bobby Womack and Mos Def, ‘Stylo’

Coldplay, “Strawberry Swing”

The Black Keys, ‘Tighten Up’

The Black Keys rock. Hopefully come home with something. LeBron James Cleveland has already lost.
