Monterey Bay AquariumMonterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium  This year, the Blue Ocean Film Festival, presented by the Monterey Bay Aquarium, more than 85 ocean-related films have been chosen to splash in August 1924 to 29 in Monterrey. The festival will bring together films, filmmakers and leaders in research and ocean conservation.

During the film festival, Blue Ocean, events in the oceans will take place in and around Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, including a bathroom on August 24 through the bay between Santa Cruz and Monterey by marathon swimmer Chase Bruckner. The conference includes film industry film underwater and top and instructional video sessions in the sanctuary.

The films will cover 19 categories, three will be released in BLUE.

* “Alone” is a documentary of the dramatic environmental impacts of the south Louisiana coastal ecosystem.

* “Beneath the Blue” star Paul Wesley, Caitlin Wachs and Keith David in a story about scientists dolphins, sonar and espionage.

* “Beautiful Wave”, a drama set in Santa Cruz navigation, stars, Patricia Richardson, Aimee Teegarden, Helen Slater and Lance Henriksen.

Meanwhile, the Disney epic nature documentary “Oceans” also offers an unprecedented look under the sea. “Ultimate Wave Tahiti” with Kelly Slater, surfing mixture of marine science, IMAX 3D screens. “Acid Test”, narrated by Sigourney Weaver, explores the acidification of the ocean with stunning underwater cinematography. “Men of the ocean”, by award-winning cinematographer Bob Talbot, is a fascinating look at the extreme diving. “180 south” is a documentary drama of adventurers retracing environmentalists Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins is life-changing trip to Patagonia 1968.

These films and more of the best in the world of the ocean will be shown in five theaters in Monterey Peninsula. A conference of the film industry and a round of conservation summit to the solid matrix of activities and events. BLUE hold exhibitions of photography, seminars, panels and film making presentations, pitching sessions, film and photography equipment demos, VIP parties and networking events.
