Mother’s Day Gifts 2012

Mother’s Day Gifts 2012, It’s Mother’s Day this coming Sunday (18th March), so time is running out to nab a great gift for your mum.

As a mother I have enjoyed researching this article as it has helped me to identify all the lovely treats that I can blackmail my husband into getting me, on our five-year old daughter’s behalf. Of course, I am not so cold hearted that a handmade card and something made out of cereal boxes and old toilet rolls wouldn’t fill me with motherly joy.

But if you do fancy spending some cold hard cash on your lovely old mum, then here are some ideas that won’t break the bank!

Cards
Cards are usually a terrible rip-off and you can spend £3-£4 on even the most uninspiring supermarket offering. Of course, making a card is the cheapest (and most appreciated) option and if you are short of inspiration great ideas can be found at websites like DaniellesPlace.com.

Alternatively, instead of spending your cash on an anonymous mass-produced card you could try a website like Moonpig where you can personalise your offering for around the same cost. Standard cards start from £2.99 and you can upload your own photos and add your own messages.

An even cheaper option is to order a card from Snapfish where personalised cards start from £1.99.

Chocolates
When stuck for inspiration many of us turn to that trusted favourite – a box of chocolates.

There is still time to shop online and take advantage of offers like the Thorntons I love Chocolate Hamper with an online exclusive discount of £5 (down from £30 to £25).

There are lots of good deals to be had at Hotel Chocolat, with Mother’s Day gifts from £4, and you get a free gift if you spend over £35!

And you can get 8% off Mother’s Day orders at the Chocolate Trading Co. when you enter code Mothers8 at the checkout. The code expires 19th March.

If you have left it too late to order online, the supermarket could be your saviour with a Thorntons Classic Chocolate Collection box only costing £5.98 at Sainsbury’s.
