Sergio Mora, LOS ANGELES – It is often said a draw or a tie in sports is like kissing your sister. If that is the case of the disgruntled crowd at the Staples Center called the result of painfully boring fight between Shane Mosley and Sergio Mora fairly early in his adventure uninspired.

As Mosley and his umpteenth Mora exercise in the fourth round finish that resembled more of a slow dance of what a party must win for both fighters became the crowd to sing: “Kiss!” Which is Spanish for “Kiss! ”

Well, unfortunately for the 13 591 attendees, which would eventually sports equivalent “of that meeting with a sister. The decision of a tie which serves as another black eye for a sport that does not have enough men to cut the corner to meet the self-inflicted wounds.

It’s easy to say that Mosley should have won this 12-round bout with Mora. It is highly questionable whether or not it really deserved to win. Indeed, non-combat Snoozer deserved to win Saturday night, which was probably the worst pay per view main event of the year and seriously wounded Mosley ability to lead other pay per view card.

The only people more disgusting that fans at home that was bombed and underwhelming 44.95 for the fight, were the fans at Staples Center, some up and payment of 400. Fans booed both fighters constantly present after each round.

They saved his strongest ovations of Magic Johnson, sitting by the ring of Oscar De La Hoya, the ring and girls 20 years old boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who knocked out sixth Carlos Baldomir in a fight billboard assault. Chants of “Cinnamon!” rang down on both Mosley and Mora during his struggle with a choice of some other phrases in Spanish, unfit for public consumption.

This was a make or break the class struggle for both fighters for different reasons. Mora, a 29-year-old native of East Los Angeles who won the first season of “The Contender” reality show “Five years ago, was trying to establish himself as a fighter from the legitimate struggle after only two times in the past two years. Mosley, the native 39-year-old from Pomona who had been one of the greatest fighters pound-for-pound fighter in the world, was trying to reestablish itself as a competitor after a loss to Floyd Mayweather indifferent four months ago . In the end, nobody got what they wanted.

Everyone can agree the main event was a failure – even the promoters kept insisting on how well the card was not. In the end, the suspense alone was the final decision. Gustavo Judge Bayless scored it 115-113 for Mora, David Denkin had 116-112 for Mosley and Lou Moret 114-114.

Either way, the end result of the HBO pay-per-view-only event highlighted a fight so bad that HBO will air a repeat of the usual way, choosing instead to show it on HBO Latino Saturday at night when most of his lucky viewers are out doing nothing.

After the fight Mora (01.02.1921, six KOs) felt as if he had won the fight, going so far as to say that there can be provided over Mosley (06/01/1946, 39 KOs) at the end of the struggle for respect for him because it felt like I was ahead on the cards. It was a curious statement from a fighter who really started to fight later in the fight because it seemed as if he knew he needed a good result to win.

“I won the fight,” Mora said. “I should have gotten more points for my defense. I’m a defensive-minded fighter, and controlled the pace. On the other hand I do not remember where I was struggling …. You want to see hits. Do not want to see the defense.”

CompuBox statistics that do not take into account the defense, in favor of Mosley and highlighted how the poor, both gone. Mosley hit 161 of his 522 strokes (31%), while Mora hit 93 of his 508 strokes (18%).

To combat the aging will have an opponent like Manny Pacquiao to save another payday pay-per-view after the performance Saturday night, Mosley does not seem too worried about the result.

“I was waiting for the coup de grace,” said Mosley. “I won the fight but that is what it is. That’s what happens when the boy was not damaged.”

During the press conference after the fight that took place at the Staples Center floor as fans chanted the fighters on the scene, many fans once again started chanting the name of “Canelo” as Mosley smiling.

“There are lots of big fights out there for me,” said Mosley. “Cinnamon is a big fight coming up. I’m looking Pacquiao and [Miguel] Cotto now. Canelo may be later in the future.”
