Mormon Tabernacle ChoirMormon Tabernacle Choir, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is preparing their pipes Friday night, this weekend the LDS Church is hosting its annual Christmas Concert. Organizers tell ABC 4 it could be their best performance yet.

For some it’s a favorite holiday tradition; the songs and sounds of the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. You’ve probably heard it before. But organizers claim this weekend is one you won’t want to miss.

“This has to be our best,” said Mac Christensen, Choir President.

Christensen said it has a lot with this year’s guest performers – actress Jane Seymour and opera singer Nathan Gunn. Organizers said they’re both making this weekend’s concert a near flawless performance.

“For me this is the gift of Christmas, to part of all this,” said Seymour.

“I think it’s the first time I’ve ever done anything that was so well organized with volunteers, I don’t
I’ve done anything quite like that before,” said Gunn.

The concert combines dance, orchestra, words and song. One of the secrets to the show was helping Seymour figure her cues from the conductor.

“From my perspective on the monitor I see, He actually points to the sopranos, it looks like he’s pointing at directly at me, and I definitely don’t want to talk over the sopranos, so we had to come up with a new technique where he actually touches his mouth, and that means it’s my turn to talk,” said Seymour.

And ABC 4 talked Gunn into singing a little preview of his favorite part.

“Sing lullaby, lullaby baby,” sang Gunn. “You heard that one?” he continued. “How sweet, sing lullaby. That’s how it goes.”

However, Gunn said if you want to hear the rest, you have to come to the show.

Although tickets are no longer available; Organizers believe you actually have a good chance of getting in on standby for the Sunday morning performance. ABC 4 is told if you want to go, you need to be seated by 9:00 a.m.
