Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football, Did you enjoy your Sunday? I sure did. Not having the St. Louis Rams to put a black mark on the closing day of the weekend offered a nice little respite. We’ll see what happens tonight when the Rams take on the Seahawks in Seattle for a Monday Night Football game sure to be a ratings bonanza.

Let’s get to the links.

Hello America, we’re the St. Louis Rams – What an exciting treat for football fans, an NFC West battle in prime time. The Rams know their season is shot, but they still want to make it right with a strong outing on the national stage.

Bradford gets limited work in practice: Brit Miller looking iffy – Bradford did manage to get on the field this weekend, so he might play tonight in Seattle. Fullback Brit Miller, however, looks doubtful after hurting his knee in practice on Saturday.

Seahawks outplaying the Rams – Seattle’s offensive line is the only one in the league as injury riddled as the Rams’ front five. They still manage to win games and play good football in spite of those limitations. I’ll say it again, injuries are a poor excuse.

NFL Playoff Picture: Seahawks Still Have Chance Of Making The Postseason – It’s huge long shot, obviously. The rest of the NFC West is playing much better than the Rams this year. Arizona’s upset yesterday is a good reminder of that.

The St. Louis Saints? – Don’t we wish. A Fox station in Nashville, TN helped St. Louis find a new team. Also, television news CG errors are funny.

On Josh McDaniels And Offensive Continuity – Rams Herd says the team needs to dump Josh McDaniels after this season. But what about the transition for Sam Bradford? That’s covered here too.

Monday Night Football, Division rivals to fight for a victory tonight, and this could be a game Monday night worth seeing as many of the clashes Monday night this season have been less than entertaining.

Leader of the AFC West, the San Diego Chargers (4-2) will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs (3-3). Kansas City seemed buried in the 0-3, but have a great opportunity tonight to get back into the thick of the race for the AFC West.

Let’s take a look at the equipment.

San Diego Chargers
San Diego is coming off a loss to the New York Jets in Week 7. Quarterback Philip Rivers has to step up their game. He has been nervous this year and has easily been more reticent when the game does not come through immediately. With only seven touchdowns and nine interceptions this season, Rivers needs to recover. Kansas City is not a team against which you want to make mistakes, and learned the Oakland Raiders last week.

Rivers key is to relax and let the work come together instead of trying to force the game and make unnecessary mistakes. Antonio Gates have healthy back should help in that regard. The Chargers offense is eighth in the league in total yards, but only 15 in number of points per game. The crime for which this equipment is decent, but certainly could be better, and has been in the not so recent past.

The Chargers are ranked 7th in the league with 273.2 yards per game. Running back Mike Tolbert has been listed questionable for the game with a hand injury. Leading the team in receptions and second in rushing yards, the pressure on the other offensive players Ryan Matthews (running back) and Vincent Jackson (receiver). Jackson has dealt with nagging injuries throughout the season, but practiced for their first full week. Which was closed last week against the Jets, but the boss battles that allow you to make some plays.

San Diego’s defense has suffered numerous injuries and is thinning out. Bob Sanders and outside linebacker Larry English are out of season, while defensive end Luis Castillo is out for an extended period of time, and outside linebacker Shaun Phillips is at least the Monday game. The inside linebacker Donald Butler, said the defense is still trying to create the chemistry needed to maintain strong offense.

Kansas City Chiefs
Major crime has struggled this season. Quarterback Matt Cassel has had eight touchdowns and a completion percentage of 63.5, but has hurt the team with seven interceptions. Cassel has had problems when faced with the Chargers and has only thrown for 200 yards, once in the last five starts against San Diego. Fortunately, Cassel is playing at home and have the home crowd to help you focus on the game.

The staff is ranked 7th in the league in rushing with 129.3. However, they are ranked a lowly 30th in his yards per reception. Running back Jackie Battle has led the Chiefs with 232 rushing yards on 45 carries. Battle with players Thomas Jones will be running to see. Jones and the battle has not been arrested as against weak defenses KC has played recently. With the Chargers feel some pain on the defensive side of the ball, this will be a great opportunity for the top ranked Chiefs running parallel to shine.

Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has helped the offensive leader in receiving yards with 496 yards and four touchdowns. Faced with the Chargers in week three, Bowe had 67 yards receiving and a touchdown. Steve Breaston should also play an important role in the play of the Chiefs on Monday. With all eyes focused on Bowe, heads are sure to make some big plays for Breaston to try to beat rival Chargers.

The chief prediction Chargers

While the leaders have the advantage of playing at home, I think the Chargers go ahead and beat Kansas City for the second time this season. I think it will be a close game that will be issued for crimes, as both defenses have been plagued by injuries.

In general, crime Chargers beat the Chiefs, with Philip Rivers have the opportunity to gather against the heads of average defense, and later pull Chargers in the AFC West.
