Mlb Home Run Derby

Mlb Home Run DerbyMlb Home Run Derby, The odds for the 2011 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby are out, and in my expert opinion of baseball have given us a great opportunity to get a good return on our investment. It is advisable to make a major bet on games of stars and related events. However, it can be a profitable if kept in their betting limits and hedge their bets correctly.

As expected, Jose Bautista is a 3.1 favorite to win the Derby, and rightly so. He leads all of baseball with 31 home runs ahead of the holidays, and led baseball in that category over the past 18 months. I would definitely recommend putting some money on “Joey Bats” to work on Monday and take home the title, but not all!

The key to making money in these events is to have the mentality that is not going to get rich doing it. Load up on a player, and put all your eggs in one basket is never a good idea. That’s exactly why I suggest putting a third of the amount of money you plan on betting on the Derby Bautista.

There is no doubt that the power has much to do with hitting home runs, but as we learned in the past, the consistency is more important to win the event. The first round leader often does not close the deal as Josh Hamilton, Corey Hart and David Wright can attest. In terms of consistency, Adrian Gonzalez would be my choice. He has a very fluid swing that can end up beating everyone in the field, including the American League, Captain David Ortiz, who chose to participate. In 7.1, Gonz? Lez is definitely worth paying a little money.

The rest of the field likely to include: Prince Fielder 02.07, 07.02 David Ortiz, Matt Holliday 4 / 1, Matt Kemp 7.1, Robinson Cano 15 / 2 and Rickie Weeks 12 / 1. Cano may be a sweet lefty swing, but it is too level of a swing to hit consistently enough home runs from round to round to compete. Weeks does not deserve to be here, but is having a tremendous season. Holliday has only 12 pumps of the season, but has the potential to compete as regularly puts in the phenomenal power display during batting practice. The gardener has a Home Run Derby championship under his belt, and can be a solid choice to regain his title. MLB handicap these probabilities based on where they stand in the public eye, and where they stand currently in home runs this season.

Kemp is a young player, strong, talented and has the kind of swing that can succeed in this type of event. Put some money on Kemp in 7.1 would not be a bad idea. Make sure you do the math and calculate the probabilities of each player selected to turn a profit if one of them wins. The key is the removal of several of the players to start, and narrow the field to 3 or 4. Once you’ve done this, calculate the amount you want to bet a total and divide the money for 3 or 4 players, so it will make more of their investment if the player wins. Good luck!
