Minor Possession Of A FirearmMinor Possession Of A Firearm, A convicted felon and his girlfriend were arrested Tuesday and charged for multiple drug offenses as well as risk of injury after police found drugs scattered throughout their apartment, officials said.

Police said they had received numerous complaints about an apartment on the first floor of 11 Glover Place. They went looking for Ira Lacks, 30, and found him as he was getting into his car in the parking lot outside his apartment. He was in possession of 2.9 grams of crack cocaine, according to a police press release.

When executing the search warrant at his home, detectives and the narcotic K-9 unit found an additional 20.4 grams of crack cocaine, 8.7 grams of marijuana, a .22 caliber handgun and narcotic paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials, in the home.

A 35-year-old woman, Jessica Lombardi, and a 15-year-old boy were also living in the home, police said.

The Department of Children and Families was contacted as the juvenile was present in the home while numerous narcotic violations were observed, police said. Detectives observed narcotics scattered throughout the apartment that were easily accessible to the boy, they said.

Lombardi was later found and taken into custody, police said.

Lacks and Lombardi were both charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of with intent to sell and within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor. Lacks was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm since he is a convicted felon. He was held in lieu of a $200,000 bond. Lombardi was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

In court Wednesday, Lacks was given a new bond of $75,000 and a new court date of Jan. 30. Lombardi was released on a promise to appear, with the condition that she submit to drug and alcohol testing and counseling and appear in court again on Jan. 30.

Lacks was convicted on felony drug charges in 2009, according to court records. He has three previous convictions from 2004 for drug sales, interfering and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors. He was also arrested in June and charged with failure to appear and operating a motor vehicle with suspended licence or registration. Those cases are still pending.
