Minecraft Crafting, Crafts Minecraft WIKI times, for reasons not quite understand (although Malcolm Gladwell took a look at some factors in his book “The Tipping Point”), an idea, or meme, or product will soon gain rapid popularity. “Going viral” is often called these days, which means that it does not spread by owner advertising, but it is spreading through other people, the contagious spread like a virus outbreak. Sometimes it’s just silly internet video (“double rainbow” was a recent one), but when it comes to a product, suddenly everyone is talking about he / she buys and uses.

Last week, a small independent game called Minecraft seems to have hit a turning point and has gone viral. I began to see the emails and links circulating at work earlier this week after comments from friends who are not working in Facebook, then tweets about it from those outside the gaming industry and outside the country. Even got a mention on Penny Arcade by the end of the week, which is surely a sign that a small independent game “has left.” And the game is not even out of alpha yet.

What is the game? Well, it is true that the name, is based on (a) mining and (b) crafting. It’s a game quite sandbox type of free-form, log on and get a randomly generated world in very low resolution graphics. You are (unless you try the multiplayer mode) only in the world and must build a safe shelter and defend against enemies. The enemies are mostly creatures as undead skeletons and zombies come out when the sun sets and (mostly) disappear again at dawn. A few spiders and zombies remains resistant to the sun during the day keep the interesting but rather odd. You start nkd with nothing, and have to make everything from scratch with your hands, gradually building his strength and his tools safe. The graphics are very basic and lacking support in the game to start to see some video tutorials, and then refer to the development wiki once you start playing.
