Midori Melon LiqueurMidori Melon Liqueur, Having dined at pan-Asian restaurant and cocktail bar in a night Matou March cold, my promise to return and use the outdoor terrace was completed finally in a warm July night last weekend.

The restaurant, in a prime location on the Pier Head Ferry Terminal, provide a lively atmosphere Friday night for diners and those looking to start the weekend by sampling the excellent range of cocktails in the bar bill.

My friend and I were received in the friendly waiter Roshan bar we went to the luxurious leather sofas in the lounge. Admire the glorious views of the Liver, Cunard and Port of Liverpool Building, which sank into the cushions and read the drinks menu.

Before we knew it, we were presented with two attractive “Blue Angel – a heady mix of champagne, gin, blue curacao sherry – served in a hurricane glass with a slice of orange. Roshan said that a selection of fresh cocktails is soon to be offered in Matou with food and drink menus a makeover. While classics such as Cosmopolitan or pina colada will remain, no more unusual blends available and Roshan welcomed our comments on your version of Blue Angel. Attractive as the ocean blue liquid was, it was incredibly strong, very sharp with the bite of the gin to feel truly refreshing.

Undeterred, Roshan was more than happy to talk us through the options and try to deduce the key to our palate was tempting, proclaiming that he had developed a knack for reading the minds of its customers. Promising that surprises us all with his next infusion, disappeared behind the bar. He did not disappoint as two “June Bug were placed before us. Malibu coconut rum, Midori melon liqueur, banana liqueur and sour mix served with a straw in a delicate martini glass. Sweet and fruity without rest, this treatment lime tropical colors easily slid down the throat leaving us anxious about what Roshan in the store next door. Originally from Nepal, and having worked in Portugal as a bartender for several years before his arrival in Liverpool Roshan was clearly a cocktail guru with many tasty recipes tripping off the tongue.

Desire for adventure and eager to try the menu that already exist in Matou, I went for Highball LA – Creator Mark bourbon, amaretto and lime topped with ginger ale served in a tall glass thickness – a sweet nectar, highlighted by a touch sweet of almond amaretto. As a fan of bourbon instantly became my favorite drink of the night. My friend dared to try the chile and Passion Fruit Martini, an exotic blend of vodka, chili and passion fruit neatly presented in a martini glass decorated with red pepper placed on the edge. Roshan confirmed its commitment to maintain the lowest possible heat and the fruit of vodka and passion really was a combination of cooling.

Ready for some fresh air, and now more than a little happy, we ventured to the large terrace to be received by the Three Graces with the liver bird gloriously illuminated by the spotlight of the centenary.

Choose a comfortable place in the furniture wicker patio, cocktail soon dispatched decisive third agreement was the best of the bunch … so far. Inevitably, could not resist an insatiable thirst to try room. Roshan had before tempted us with the mention of “Champagne Mojitos,” a sweet and spicy blend of mint, rum and lemon juice supplemented with champagne instead of soda. Very well presented in a tall glass was a must for any fan of the mojito happy to experience a slight change in tradition.

Devouring the mojitos spot, the night he ran away from us. As midnight approached, and friendly staff Matou no doubt longed for their beds, we decided to have a potion last for the road. Another very well in the menu, aptly titled given our location near the river Mersey, ‘Seabreeze. Vodka, orange juice, liqueur, passion fruit and grenadine served in a glass hurricane, which was the epitome of a fancy cocktail you can imagine being delivered on a sunny beach of clear blue sea. Vibrant red color, smooth and refreshing cold liquid was a satisfying ending to a great fall night in the hospitality of Matou.

9 / 10 (Pier) head and shoulders above the rest.
