Michelle Williams BeyonceMichelle Williams Beyonce, It’s no shock that several celebrities took to Twitter this weekend to congratulate Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the birth of their baby girl, but many were surprised that former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams wasn’t sending the couple positive thoughts via social media.

That oversight led to an onslaught of posts from fans who speculated that Michelle may not be as happy for her former group member as some expected. While she didn’t use the social media site to express her thoughts on the birth, Michelle did write a response for those pressuring her to do what they wanted.

“Let’s get ONE thing straight…. I do NOT have to say congrats to someone when they’re NOT on twitter…ESPECIALLY when I talk or email them all the time…or when I’ll be physically present as well…so harassing and stalking my timeline to see if I’ve mentioned something is POINTLESS!!! My friendship with people aren’t always for twitter display. Respect that and get a LIFE!!! Enjoy this FINE day!!! God bless!!!!” she wrote, noting that Beyoncé has not once ever tweeted anything from the official Beyoncé Twitter page, which boasts more than 2 million followers.

Oddly enough, fans didn’t seem equally perturbed that Kelly Rowland didn’t post any congratulatory messages via Twitter.

Former group member LeToya Luckett did send the couple some love, though.

“A BIG congrats to Bey & J!!!! God bless ya’ll,” she wrote.

Michelle wasn’t the only celebrity to be criticized over congratulatory tweets about Blue Ivy.

“Love & Hip Hop” star Yandy Smith issued an apology after posting a sarcastic comment suggesting that the baby was actually born a month ago.

If there hadn’t already been so much speculation surrounding Beyoncé’s pregnancy and due date, Yandy’s “joke” might not have caused such a stir, but considering that news outlets questioned whether Bey was actually pregnant at all, Yandy’s comments became fodder for more gossip.

“My sarcasm was in bad taste. I was making light of the ridiculous rumors which of course were untrue…” she tweeted.

While many other celebrities, from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, all sent out words of congratulations to the happy family via Twitter, Michelle reminded all that the birth of Blue Ivy really has nothing to do with her, the couple’s friends or fans.

“This is a beautiful, precious, private time between two people and excitement is to be expected but NOT disrespect!”
