Michelle Obama World Record, First Lady Michelle Obama will come to New Hampshire on Friday and join New Hampshire First Lady Dr. Susan Lynch in promoting healthy eating and exercise.

The White House announced Tuesday that as part of her “Let’s Move!” initiative, the nation’s First Lady will visit Penacook Community Center (PCC), a neighborhood non-profit organization that offers community programs to foster healthy eating and active living for all ages. The event is scheduled for Friday at 2:45 p.m.

The community center has a child care center that helps children kids exercise before and after school and teaches them about eating healthy through the use of a garden. The center participated in helping Mrs. Obama and National Geographic Kids break the Guinness world record for most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period in October 2011.

Mrs. Obama will point to Concord as an example of a collaborative community effort to promote health and wellness, good nutrition and physical activity.

A group of Concord area organizations and individuals joined together in 2009 to create the Capital Area Wellness Coalition.

The coalition includes the Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the school district, Concord Hospital and other local leaders.

Dr. Lynch is a pediatrician who works as a pediatric lipid specialist at the Cholesterol Treatment Center at Concord Hospital.

She has advocated for children’s health, proper nutrition and exercise throughout her service as the state’s First Lady.

Mrs. Obama’s visit will come a week and a day after President Barack Obama visited Nashua Community College on March 1.

After leaving New Hampshire on Friday, Mrs. Obama will deliver remarks at two Democratic National Committee events in Boston, the White House said.
