“I have to share a story and wanted to make sure my family NPR heard this before. Last week, I told the management of the news that my husband, Broderick Johnson, has just accepted a position of senior adviser to the campaign Obama. After careful consideration, we decided that the paper again Broderick could make it hard for me to continue hostingATC. Given the nature of Broderick’s position with the campaign and the impact it will no doubt have in our family life, temporarily step of my hosting duties until after the 2012 elections. I will leave the host chair at the end of this week, but I’m not far away. I’ll be wearing a different hat for a while, the production segments and characteristics of the firm and working on draft reports. While I, of course, deny the whole election coverage, there are still plenty of land that can grow in this interim role.

This has all happened very fast, but working closely with the management of NPR, we were able to make a plan that serves as the program honors the integrity of our news organization and is best for me professionally and personally.

No doubt housing will be lost, but I will remain part of the ATC team and I hope to contribute to our program and NPR in new and exciting ways. “
