Both teams played well but not Mexico played better than South Africa. South Africa was lucky to not go back in the game in the first half.

Mexico has lost one or two good chances in the first half of the match which could have the advantage in the game, but players finishing was not up to the mark. Has passed for the 6th time that the host country has drawn up the first match of the tournament.

South Africa started well in the second half and only 11 minutes in the second half Siphiwe Tshabalala scored from a thunderous strike that went through the goalkeeper of Mexico. The goalkeeper failed to stop the ball.

South African players lost their chances to double their advantage, but neither were able to score more goals. In the 79th minute of the match that what happened to what South African fans will not want to happen, and that Mexico was EQ. Rafael Marquez scored the game due to poor South African players defense.

The stadium was surprised at the time but South Africa could have won in the 90th minute when the Mphela shot hit the goal post and the ball entered the goal and score remained 1-1. Giovani Dos Santos was named man of the match for Mexico. Both teams would have to play well in their next matches if they want to proceed in the tournament. In general, it is a good start for the 19th World Cup.
