Egypt News, Twitter, which has more than 175 million users worldwide, said access to its service has been blocked in Egypt, where thousands of people faced with the government and police. Service Twitter has been stuck at 11 am New York time today, the company said in an e-mailed statement. The blockage is affecting the main site, Twitter.com, and software applications related to Twitter, the company said.

“We believe the open exchange of information benefits companies and points of view and helps to better connect Govt” with people, Twitter said in a separate message posted on its website. The company did not say in his messages that it believes to be responsible for the blocked service.

Twitter users said earlier, they were unable to access Twitter in Egypt, according Herdict.org, a site that monitors Web sites for accessibility.
