Yesterday there was talk of possible rain during the long-awaited US-Brazil quarterfinal, but as he approached the game time were not mostly sunny skies costs, with some scattered clouds.

It is hot and humid, though, so try to stay hydrated can be a chore. The playing field is divided between sun and shade at this time. It has to be hot on the lawn.

As for the lineups, with few surprises. No, U.S. Coach Pia Sundhage did not pull a Greg Ryan and replace Hope Solo in goal. (If you do not understand, never mind).

Sundhage took the left side Amy LePeilbet, as indicated by it. LePeilbet during the tournament has struggled to keep pace with the opposition forwards and his death. Sundhage has given a long leash, however, recognizing that LePeilbet) is a tough competitor, and b) is normally a central defender and is playing out of position.

“Its kind of taking one for the team,” said Sundhage.

Heather O’Reilly, who makes a big difference in the right flank of U.S. attack when healthy, is 100%, according to Sundhage. O’Reilly missed the loss to Sweden with a groin strain suffered in the game of Colombia, which opened the scoring.

It remains to be seen whether the German fans will check out of this tournament after the terrible loss of the German national team to Japan on Saturday night.

All tickets sold for this game. The stadium holds 22,933. Twenty minutes before the game, a lot of empty seats remained, but there seems to be a problem at this stage to get fans through the turnstiles in a timely manner. There are lots of flags of Brazil and the U.S. all, however. Besides those who arrive late (?) Crowd, there is a sense of excitement in the air, as discussed in a final quarterfinals. Of course, especially with Germany no longer exists, it is.
