Marla Sokoloff Full House, Sokoloff, 31, gave birth at a southern California hospital on the evening of Wednesday, February 8, according to a source close to the matter. Mom, dad and baby are happy as can be and completely in love with each other,” Sokoloff told People magazine. The actress married Puro, a 36-year-old musician, in Beverly Hills, California in 2009.

Sokoloff, who has also recorded and performed music, spent her childhood in the San Francisco area before she pursued acting full time. She began her on-screen career as a teenager after she moved with her family to Los Angeles. She and her brother, a celebrity chef who stars in actress actress Judy Greer’s Yahoo! online series “Reluctantly Healthy,” both reside in the area.

On the ABC comedy series “Full House,” which aired between 1987 and 1995, Sokoloff played Gia Mahan, the enemy-turned-friend of Stephanie Tanner, portrayed by Jodie Sweetin.

Sokoloff went on to play other “mean girls” – she portrayed Cokie Mason in the 1995 movie “The Baby-Sitters Club” and the rebellious Jody Lynch on the FOX drama “Party of Five” until 1996.

Sokoloff played a shy high school girl alongside Shane West and James Franco in the 2000 teen romance film “Whatever It Takes,” a remake of the Cyrano DeBergerac story that was a box office flop. She and Franco dated in real life between 1999 and 2004.

Also in 2000, Sokoloff appeared with Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Garner and “American Pie” actor Seann William Scott in the comedy film “Dude, Where’s My Car?.” A year later, Sokoloff starred in “Sugar & Spice,” a comedy about female bank robbers, which also featured Mena Suvari and Melissa George.

After guest spots on shows such as “Friends” and “Night Visions,” Sokoloff landed the recurring role of receptionist Lucy Hatcher on the ABC legal drama series “The Practice,” which went off the air in 2004. Also that year, she starred in several episodes of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” as Claire, a nanny.

In 2006, Sokoloff starred in the short-lived ABC comedy series “Big Day,” which also featured Stephen Rannazzisi of the FX sitcom “The League.”
