Tom Hiddleston

April 20, 2013 by · Comments Off on Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston, It’s been a long and bumpy road for Relativity Media’s remake of The Crow. Over four years of development, the movie has had countless directors attached (from Stephen Norrington to Juan Carlos Fresnadillo) and a host of potential lead actors (from Mark Wahlberg to Bradley Cooper to James McAvoy).

Recently, however, the movie has finally been able to get on track. With new director F. Javier Guttierez running the show, The Crow is now looking to cast its lead role and a new rumor suggests that the actor could be Avengers star Tom Hiddleston.

According to The Wrap, Hiddleston “recently had dinner with producers and sent them a makeup test that he did on his own in London.” The report also states that Hiddleston will “undergo a proper makeup test in the coming days.”

Hiddleston is a strong choice for the film for several reasons, the most obvious being the fact that he’s a very good actor. From his most notable work as the villainous Loki in Thor and The Avengers to his turns in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, Hiddleston has an impressive resume of work. Plus, he’s obviously interested in the character; not every actor that will do their own makeup test for a chance at a role.

And that level of commitment is what really matters for The Crow. While some of the original film’s cult status can be attributed to the tragic death of Brandon Lee during filming, there’s no denying that people truly love the character of Eric Draven.

While “serious” comic book movies seem to be the norm now, The Crow‘s Eric Draven offered the kind of gritty, anti-hero that was ahead of its time. There’s a depth and darkness to Draven that could be ideal for Hiddleston, who won praise for making Loki a conflicted and jealous two-dimensional character rather than a cardboard cutout.

Given that the film is scheduled to begin production this fall, it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear some more concrete news on casting in the next week or two. If Hiddleston does sign on for the role, we’ll have the report.

The extraordinary “winter’s Bone” received four nominations, including Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay. “-John Hawkes” unsung character actor who played the same time scary and sympathetic Teardrop meth addict – and his Best Actor nod is the biggest surprise Oscar this year. The guys are fighting in the trenches for years, a star in “Me and You and everyone else” and the TV series “Deadwood.” And the best actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence has a bright future, hopefully in the roles of the same meat, but first, we “ll see her in” X-Men. First Class ”
That may be an Oscar race more intriguing than expected. the current season price is loaded with predetermined winners, and all we lack now is the ceremony. But the race for best film just got interesting: The Producers Guild gave “The King’s Speech” honors last weekend, which puts the film in a close contest with Golden Globe winner “The Social Network.” If the price of interpretation seems most of the time, as well duh-peaks (Natalie Portman for “Black Swan”, Christian Bale for “The Fighter”, Colin Firth to “Speech”), at least the highest price will be happy keep us.

And now that the Oscar nominations were announced, we’ll start pontificating and predict who will win the ultimate prize. But before that (compare my choices, and the announcement of our annual contest Pick Flicks on Sunday), I have some praise and pouting – and puzzles – to do in these instinctive reactions here in the NOM. Please note, in the interest of not being such a sourpuss, I posted the praises before pout (do not forget to view a complete list of nominees):

Hawkeye

July 25, 2010 by · Comments Off on Hawkeye

HawkeyeHawkeye, OnTheRedCarpet — It’s been almost two full years in the making, but now it seems that the Oscar-nominated and fan-favorite actor Jeremy Renner is confirmed to play Hawkeye Avengers for Marvel Studios.

It all began in 2008 after the success of Iron Man ball inside pointed to the characters Hawkeye and Black Widow are introduced in Iron Man 2. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) got their introduction and discussion is only legitimate that we hear coming from Hawkeye Renner had gone to meet some people to discuss Marvel Captain America. Instead, there was talk of Hawkeye and now here we are.

After some back and forth to reveal details about Jeremy Renner Hawkeye suit him saying it is all a rumor, Joss Whedon, who is now confirmed for The Avengers dropped the bomb on the fans for the last time people of OnTheRedCarpet.com:

“I’m writing and directing it … There will be some revenge that takes place during the film and that’s all I can say. I think it is well known that Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) to join us as Hawkeye, that is so exciting for me and the rest of the cast. ”

This is a show much more directly and accurately by Joss Whedon in contrast to what he said about Nathan Fillion to be his Ant-Man for a panel yesterday in-joke, of course … so we all know.

This is both brilliant and surprising as word hit the net in May that Renner may have already signed, or at least close to signing. That was followed again a week later than indiciated reports about to be blocked by the role of Hawkeye. Since then, Marvel has been to keep this card up his sleeve along with several other listings for events like Comic-Con.

It is certainly an epic deal that we are doing in this intensely ambitious project and other questions that still remain involved to replace Edward Norton as Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo said about trying to finish) and what other characters can join the list (Wasp and Ant-Man?).

What is interesting is that, when originally examined the part Renner said last November that he thought the character of Hawkeye appear in Thor. While it seemed strange, since it made more sense for him to appear in Iron Man 2, I would say we’re going to see a Thor, after all, from the earliest images are increasingly being revealed today and all he said Renner and has come true.

Marvel Studios Comic-Con 2010 panel presentation Thor and Captain America begin at 18:00 today to be for important announcements and confirmations.

I will be their live performance such as SDCC to follow me on Twitter @ rob_keyes and our main food @ screenrant and let us know your thoughts.

Thor opens May 5, 2011, The First Avenger: Captain America hits July 22, 2011 and The Avengers will be released on May 4, 2012. We’ll see what comes after San Diego Comic-Con this week!

Jeremy Renner

July 25, 2010 by · Comments Off on Jeremy Renner

Jeremy RennerJeremy Renner, Repotted by Zap2it, The official word has been reduced in terms of “The Avengers.” Ruffalo will play Bruce “The Hulk” Banner, Jeremy Renner will play Clint “Hawkeye” Barton and Joss Whedon will direct.

Whedon spoke to the audience at Comic-Con, saying: “I had this dream all my life and not so good. I want to thank Kevin for both the assembly of my dream team. This model is more than we ever could have dreamed of working with him. I’m going to fly. I’m not up to it. I need your love and support. ”

The announcement was made at Marvel Studios session, which also included clips, cast and crew of “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” due out in May and July 2011 respectively. Both films premiered new art and posters at Comic-Con too. “The Avengers” brings together characters from both movies, plus some new ones, and is due to May 2012.

Also speaking at the Comic-Con that Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, you can return to the franchise because the character is now controlled by Marvel Studios. Unfortunately, Wolverine will not be part of “Captain America” because 20th Century Fox still owns the rights to the “X-Men” franchise.

The question of who would be filling the shoes of Edward Norton stood between the media and movie fans after he announced he would not reprise his role as Bruce Banner in the 2008 film “The Incredible Hulk.” A war of words took place between Norton and Kevin Feige; president of Marvel Studios, after the studio released a statement that implies Norton did not embody “the creative spirit” that sought
