Mail On Sunday Newspaper, The Mail on Sunday reported the highest monthly sales fall between titles Sunday in August, losing more than 150,000 copies, including former News readers in the world of alternative sampling turn to red the best titles.
The Mail on Sunday officially inherited the title of best-selling Sunday newspaper last month after Rupert Murdoch’s decision to close the News of the World after its last edition on 10 July in a failed attempt to kill the scandal phone-hacking.
Sales of Motorways of the Sea, which briefly touched about 2.4 million, fell 6.97% on month in August to 2,098,244 copies, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation last Friday. This represents a 6.78% year on year increase.
The closing of the real winners because now the tabloids are still the most direct competitors, obviously – the Sunday Mirror and Sunday people Richard Desmond Daily Star – the most titles of trying to keep new readers tactics including heavy advertising and price discounts.
The Sunday Mirror reported a 6.38% monthly increase to 1,900,460, a 66.69% year on year increases.
Cuadra people grew by 10.6% month over month to 892,033, a 66% year over year increase.
Sunday newspaper Richard Desmond, star sales grew 5.88% to 744,981, a 95.39% year on year increases. The Sunday Express also increased 4.47% to 677,779, up 17.9% year on year increase.
Among the quality titles the Independent on Sunday achieved a 4.97% year on year increase in sales to 164,247. However, this represented a fall of 1.63% compared to net circulation July.
The Sunday Times rose 1.77 months% in the month to rise above the 1m marks fell under last month – the first time since the audit began in 1962 – to 1,011,385. This was a year fall of 5.14% in the year.
The Observer, owned by Guardian News & Media also publishes MediaGuardian.co.uk, reported the largest decline in sales among the national quality titles with an 11.25% year-on-year fall of 274,304. On a monthly basis, representing a fall of 5.03%.
The fall year after year for the title has been compounded by the decision to stop sales.
