Long Branch Fire, A five-alarm fire erupted in a beachside apartment complex in Monmouth County earlier today, but authorities were not reporting any injuries as of 1 p.m., officials said.

The blaze began around noon in a building near Brighton and Ocean Avenues, according to Long Branch Police Lt. Raymond Chaparro, who said the massive fire caused local officials to call for help from neighboring towns.

“We’re calling in everyone,” he said.

As of 1 p.m., police and fire officials had not determined the cause of the fire, but Chaparro said there were no reported injuries.

The building, located less than a block from the Ocean Avenue Boardwalk in Long Branch, belongs to Emgee Realty in Interlaken, according to property records. The property is apparently an 18-unit apartment complex, according to a woman who answered the phone at Emgee Realty’s offices.
