Marvin Sapp Wife Dies, Malinda Sapp, wife of the famous gospel singer Marvin Sapp, died Thursday of colon cancer. She was 43.

The mother of three children was co-pastor with her husband of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids. In addition, he served as manager of her husband and was a psychologist and professor at Grand Rapids Community College.

Marvin Sapp is best known for the Gospel 2008 crossover hit “I could never have.” It is also one of the judges of the annual Verizon “How Sweet The Sound” national gospel competition, scheduled for September 25 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

The Sapps, who were high school sweethearts, married 15 years.

Sons Marvin II, Mikaila and Madison Sapp also survive Malinda Sapp, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
