Bloomsday:2010 Bloomsday is celebrated around the world today as fans flock to see the classic novel by James Joyce “Ulysses.” The book, widely regarded as one of the greatest modern novels ever written, takes place in the span of a single day – June 16, 1904 – and follows the thoughts and adventures of two men living in Dublin Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus.

Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead, bearing a bowl of lather on which he had gone through a mirror and a razor. A yellow dressing gown, ungirdled, stood behind him gently in the mild morning air. He held the bowl aloft and intoned: – Introibo ad altare Dei.

Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowl. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liver slices fried with crustcrumbs, hencod fried eggs. He especially liked grilled kidneys of mutton, which gave to his palate a fine taste of the urine smell faintly.

A nation is the same people who live in the same place.

… and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought, so he and another and then asked her eyes to ask again yes and then asked me if I was going to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him towards me so I could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes, yes I will.
