Las Vegas CrashLas Vegas Crash, The winner of the Indianapolis 500 this year, and one of the most popular car drivers Indy, English Dan Wheldon died in a fire accident in Las Vegas on Sunday. He was 33 years.
A driver has died and two remain in hospital after a fire accident in the Indy 300 in Las Vegas.

Dan Wheldon, a 33-year-old British driver racing car, died in an accident in turn two on Sunday – 12 laps in the final race of the season this year in Indy cars.

At least 15 cars were involved in the collision. The race was stopped after the accident and never returned.

Quinn Klinefelter, senior news director at WDET in Detroit, knew Wheldon and described him as someone who was very confident, but also had the ability to make people feel welcome.

“It was a very pleasant, the kind of smile that would light up a room,” said Klinefelter.

Klinefelter said he had a great impulse to do something special this race. Indy Car Racing poularity looked in the mid-90, and officials hope that the high speeds and lots of passing, as was expected of this race, which excite people about the Indy Car racing again . Klinefelter said the competition encourages drivers to be aggressive, even with the conditins challenging.

“If something happens in the middle of the pack, no normal human being, will have the reaction time to stop,” he said.

And, in fact, Wheldon. When the accident occurred, Wheldon’s car was driven through the air and into the fence. He was taken by helicopter ambulance to a nearby hospital and his death was announced a couple of hours later.

Ironically, Wheldon had been working on a new design for next year’s Indy car. Is expected to place emphasis on safety.
