Laura Logan, Four days before being savagely attacked, the foreign correspondent for CBS, Lara Logan gave this interview to Charlie Rose in which she discussed how she knew the risks of making the information in Egypt, but why she felt compelled to return. “It is very difficult for me to be away from this story,” she said at one point. “I see a professional manner as a failure. I feel like I failed because I could not give you the information and I take that responsibility very seriously. And you know, we’re still working the story, but basically it is in my blood to be there and be in the street to listen to people and make the best story I can. But at the same time, I am also aware that I can put my family in a very difficult situation. ”

“You know, one of the most dangerous charges that you may have against you, that you are accused of being a spy or an agent of a foreign government. That’s the kind of accusation against what you have no defense and can easily kill you and you’d better take it seriously. ”

Lara Logan, born in South Africa, became the most experienced war reporter in the United States after covering conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is the head of regional correspondents of CBS News since 2006.
Day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has resigned; CBS correspondent Lara Logan covered the jubilation of Tahrir Square, a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team were surrounded and safety of a dangerous element in the middle of the celebration. It was a crowd of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the crowd, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal attack and sustained sexual and beaten before being rescued by a group of women and about 20 Egyptian soldiers. It ties with the team from CBS, has returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News Correspondent Logan and privacy of the family respectfully requests at this time. CBS News correspondent Laura Logan was sexually assaulted on Friday, February 11, in the streets of Cairo, while the unrest unfolding in Egypt. CBS has been silent on the details, from the fact that the attack was brutal.
