Lake NacogdochesLake Nacogdoches, NASA has confirmed to CNN that an object found in Lake Nacogdoches is a section of the space shuttle Columbia, a spokesman for the Kennedy Space Center.

“It’s one of ours,” said Lisa Malone.  Malone said the piece is a reaction of energy storage and distribution tank of the shuttle. It is 4 feet in diameter. Tanks and water supply energy for space missions.

NASA informed the authorities last week they had found traces of possible transport on the lake.

NASA is in contact with the police in Nacogdoches to try to determine a recovery plan.

“We are considering whether we will send a team out or local authorities can do,” said Malone.

Malone said the plan is to get the tank back to KSC in the remaining waste is stored Colombia

“Once a person per year in Texas, is a piece of something they think is junk Columbia,” said Malone.

The remains recovered last were a year ago. Columbia is still stored in the vehicle assembly building at KSC.
