Justin BlackmonJustin Blackmon, A sensational Fiesta Bowl game on Monday night featured Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon making strong cases that they’re the best 2012 NFL draft prospects at their respective positions.

Oklahoma State won 41-38 in overtime, and Luck and Blackmon were the two best players on the field in a great college football shootout.

The firing of Bill Polian may raise some questions about whether Luck will be the choice of the Indianapolis Colts, who own the first overall pick, but there’s no question that Luck is ready to be the franchise quarterback for some NFL team. Luck completed 27 of 31 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns, and he marched Stanford down the field to set up what would have been a game-winning field goal on the last play of the fourth quarter — but Stanford’s kicker missed.

Blackmon was named the offensive player of the game after catching eight passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Blackmon looked like a man among boys running through the Stanford secondary, and after the game he confirmed that he’s all set to enter the draft.

“I think I am,” Blackmon said. “I think I’m going to go ahead and enter the NFL draft and see what happens after that.”
