J K Police, Srinagar, October 09 (Scoop News) – J & K Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Ali Sager said that the Government has appointed a commission of inquiry comprising Justice (Retd) Syed Bashir-ud-Din and Justice YP Nargotra to inquire into the deaths of 17 people in the Kashmir valley since the June 11, 2010.

This was stated by the minister to answer a question from my Tarigami in the Legislative Assembly here today. He said the District Magistrate, Anantnag has also ordered judicial inquiry into the firing incident in Cologne SK, Anchidora, Anantnag 29 June 2010 following the death of three people.

The Minister said the Government has accepted the judicial inquiry report thereon and on the basis of the recommendations of the charge of the investigation, the names of four police officers were added in the FIR and lodged at the Police Station Anantnag. Said pending investigation, the then SHO has been placed on suspension and disciplinary proceedings against the then SSP, Anantnag is being launched.

Giving details of the incident of firing Mendher, the Minister said that the Division Commissioner, Jammu has been appointed as head of the investigation into the incident in which three civilians were killed. Said FIR was registered against the officers lost.

The minister said that 19 have registered FIR against the security forces and police, where allegations of firing without provocation or excessive use of force were supposedly. Research in these cases is going on, he added.

The minister said that during the period between January 2010 and ended in September 2010 to 94 civilians, who were part of mobs and riots were injured during the engagement between the demonstrators and deployments on the ground and succumbed to his wounds in the valley of Kashmir and added that besides the action of security forces, 15 people were also killed in public policy problem due to various reasons including stone pelting, stampede drowning, etc explosion in the valley .

The Minister said that the death of a S Inayat Khan or Mohammad Amin Khan I / O Malteng, Dalgate took place on January 8, 2010. He said the information regarding the full details of the people, who were assaulted and succumbed to his injuries from January 2010 until August 2010 due to unrest in the Kashmir valley are being collected.
