Jerry Lewis TelethonJerry Lewis Telethon, Roger Ebert started the removal of Jerry Lewis Telethon host the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association as comedians joined in support.

The news came Wednesday that the Tucson-based MDA was relieved comedian 85 years of age, his duties as host, despite the claim that Lewis Labor Day Telethon next would be the last.

Laugh Factory comedy in several Hollywood celebrities, including Paul Rodriguez, Larry Miller, Tom Dreesen, and Crosby standard, held a press conference at the club on Friday to the scolding of the MDA to leave a man to see as a member of the family.

“If this is the way we also must say that the grandfather did not need it for Thanksgiving,” Miller joked to reporters.

Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada said TheWrap your club is conducting a petition submitted to the MDA. “The charity must have a heart better, bigger,” he said.

Comedians Lewis in demand as a minimum must attend the telethon and given a proper farewell to commemorate his 45 years as host. They have set up a petition that has already gained over 10,000 signatures, but Masada is the hope of 100,000 signatories expresses their disapproval.

“We will not boycott the love of children,” Masada said. “We want to raise money [the cause], but they do not have to be cold-hearted.”

While the reasoning of the MDA to replace Lewis has not been announced, Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada said he and Lewis comedy support, regardless of the reasons for his dismissal.

“He’s not dead,” Rodriguez said at the news conference. “He is very much alive.”

Preparations for the 46th annual telethon underway as planned at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa in Las Vegas, which will host the event, casino spokesman Tom Mikovits told the AP.

New host of the MDA has not been announced yet.

The veteran actor, struggling with a debilitating back, heart and pulmonary fibrosis appears in the documentary “method in the madness of Jerry Lewis,” airing on Encore October 22. The special features rare footage of Lewis in action, as well as comments from the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, Quentin Tarantino, and Alec Baldwin share the appreciation of the legend.
