Ipad 3 Release Date, On Thursday, a report from The Houston Chronicle noted that Apple’s Highland Village retail store will be opening on Friday, March 16. The store was originally scheduled to open on Saturday, March 17th, but was mysteriously bumped back a day to the Friday. This has lead to speculation that Apple is looking to have the store open for iPad 3 release date.

Apple’s iPad 3 keynote event is scheduled for March 7th, and will likely release the third-gen iPad in the following week as the company did with the iPad 2. In order to accommodate the long lines and large influx of customers, Apple’s new Highland Village Store will allow for better management of iPad 3 distribution and less traffic in Apple’s seven other retail locations in Houston.

The store, located in the Highland Village Shopping center at Westheimer and Drexel , was originally supposed to open in January, according to the source, but was delayed. March 17 was originally set as the new opening date, but the source said it was moved to the 16th a few weeks ago.

Apple’s Grand Openings typically take place on Saturdays, but may be moved to other days of the week to recognize special events or announcements. The March 16th opening would allow Apple exactly nine days following the announcement to ship the iPad 3’s to retail stores across the U.S.

IPad 3 Release, When does the iPad 3 come out? Apple is being secretive as usual about the launch of their next generation tablet, but sources say the iPad 3 will be unveiled the first week in March.

All Things Digital reports sources familiar with the device say Apple will be holding an event next month to launch the next iPad.

If true, the iPad 3 release date could be as early as mid-March, since the iPad 2 was released a week after being announced last March.

The Apple event is expected to be in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, with new CEO Tim Cook hosting the launch. Though a specific date hasn’t been confirmed, PC Mag reports iOS 5.1, the next Apple operating system, is set for release on March 9.

In August, sources “familiar with the matter” said that the iPad 3 would be out in early 2012 and 1.5 million devices would be available at launch. Another report suggested that the iPhone 5 release date would be March 2012, but skeptics say that’s unlikely as the record-breaking iPhone 4S came out less than six months ago.

CNET reports pressure is on Apple to come out with their next-generation iPad sooner rather than later. While 2011 may have been “the year of the iPad,” it’ll be more difficult to maintain the market lead as low-cost offerings from the likes of Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Asus have increased competition.

Ipad 3 Release DateIpad 3 Release Date, This is a little unexpected if compared to previous years, but here it goes. Japanese blog Macotakara is reporting that Apple is planning for an early February media event to introduce the upcoming iPad 3, which is expected to launch in March.

The event is said to potentially also feature iOS 5.1, which is currently in developer testing.

According to asian supplier and a source in United States, Apple seems to prepare to hold Special Event in early February. Because Chinese factory will be in holiday of New Year, then new product is concidered to be released in early March.

Last year the iPad 2 was introduced on March 2nd, and was released only a few days later on March 11th. However, the original iPad wasn’t released until two months after it was announced. If the rumors of the Media Event are true, could we be looking at a launch before March?

Apple Announcement 2012

Apple Announcement 2012Apple Announcement 2012, Released alongside a separate list of suppliers and an announcement of new membership in the Fair Labor Association, Apple’s latest report describes significant progress. But the company’s “black box” policy remains in force.

The China Digital Times writes that Apple’s latest Supplier Responsibility Progress Report shows an 80% drop in underage labor and “signs of a new and long-awaited transparency.” The company also separately published a nearly comprehensive list of suppliers for the first time, and announced its membership in the Fair Labor Association to provide some measure of third-party oversight. “But this relative openness still leaves much about Apple’s supply chain obscured.”

Apple’s report describes 229 audits throughout its supply chain – an 80 percent increase over 2010 – including more than 100 first-time audits. “We uncovered some violations and worked with our suppliers to correct the issues,” says the report. “We will expand our environmental auditing program in the coming year.”

Apple also announced its membership in the Fair Labor Association, a factory monitoring organization established in 1999 by the Clinton White House and a group of apparel manufacturers following a string of highly-publicized sweatshop scandals.

Apple’s report emerged amid a burst of well-deserved attention to Mike Daisey’s show, “The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs,” which was featured this month in National Public Radio’s “This American Life” episode, “Mr. Daisey and the Apple Factory.”

The Times further describes attributes and criticism of Apple’s reports and position, including the observation that the company continues to refuse to name the suppliers it has audited and to disclose the audit results by supplier: “Apple’s Supplier Responsibility Progress Report would be a lot more helpful and meaningful if it went one or two steps further and broke the report down into individual countries and showed to what extent the individual suppliers in those countries complied with the law as well as Apple’s own standards.”
