Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts, The NFL playoffs opened in the most dramatic fashion as the Indianapolis Colts pulled off the second biggest comeback in postseason history to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

Andrew Luck led a huge second half effort to overturn a 28-point deficit as Indianapolis won 45-44.

The Chiefs lost key running back Jamaal Charles to a suspected concussion early but it did not appear to affect KC as Alex Smith threw four touchdown passes and Knile Davis ran for a score to help the Chiefs to a 38-10 lead early in the third quarter of the wild card game.

From there though it was all about Luck, who overcame three interceptions to throw three of his four touchdown passes in the second half – including the game-winning 64-yard throw to TY Hilton late on – as the Colts pulled off the second biggest comeback in playoff history. Luck also scored on a fumble return.

Chosen number one in the 2012 draft as a replacement for Peyton Manning, Luck has already built a reputation as a comeback king, engineering 10 fourth quarter or overtime regular season game winning drives, more than any other quarterback in his first two seasons.

Luck’s greatest comeback to date, in front of a frenzied home crowd, takes the Colts to a divisional playoff against either the Denver Broncos or New England Patriots.

“One for the ages, never seen anything quite like that,” said Colts’ head coach Chuck Pagano. “Our guys are unbelievable, we’ve been there many, many times before.

“You think about all we’ve been through, they’ve always comeback. We signed up for one thing (a championship) and one thing only and we all know what that is.”

The comeback was indeed one for the ages. Only once before had a team erased a bigger deficit to win a playoff game: the Buffalo Bills beat the Houston Oilers 41-38 in overtime in 1993.

Crews were working to keep off-ice planes and the airport and keep a track open, but we expect an uphill battle as the ice moves more toward the center of Indiana, 6News’ Jennifer Carmack reported.

Many travelers are stranded at the airport waiting for a way out of Indianapolis, primarily due to flight problems throughout the Midwest.

“We slept in the airport, and it was like a big sleepover,” said Ranelle Miller. “Every bed was filled. It was really pretty, but we are tired now. ”

Some flights were to leave Indianapolis. Traveler Pauletta Pharis hoped his flight to Washington, DC, was among them.

“My family lives just north of here, so we were a family visiting the city, has just arrived for the weekend,” Pharis said. “We thought it was just the weekend, then got stuck.”

Bob Beavers arrived at the airport on Tuesday, Muncie, only to discover that his flight was canceled until Thursday in Colorado.

“I think the roads are not too good to be back in Muncie, we have reservations at a motel,” said Beavers. “No reason to worry about that. We cannot change it. We’ll make the best of him, transforming it into an adventure.”
Cancellations fight began yesterday the largest airport in the state.

Indianapolis International officials say they have used a single track for 21 hours last night.

Indianapolis International is not considered a hub for connecting flights, so officials do not expect high volume of passengers stranded for the rest of today and tomorrow.

The airport also recalls its snow and ice from the crew works day and night shifts of 12 hours. Many sleep in the airport instead of going home in freezing conditions.

Many businesses and schools across the state are closed or are closing their doors early in the afternoon as Indiana prepares for its second winter storm in the past 24 hours.
