Tom Clancy Novels Patriot Games, Clear And Present Danger, Clear and Present Danger is a novel by Tom Clancy, written in 1989, and is a canonical part of the Jack Ryan universe. In the novel, Jack Ryan is thrown into the position of CIA Acting Deputy Director (Intelligence) and discovers that he is being kept in the dark by his colleagues who are conducting a covert war against a drug cartel based in Colombia.

The title of the book is based on the legal phrase “clear and present danger”.
The United States Coast Guard Cutter Panache intercepts a yacht in the Caribbean Sea, discovering two men cleaning up after killing a man and his family. Through a mock execution, the Coast Guardsmen force the executioners to confess to the murders.

It is later learned that the murdered man was part of a drug cartel money laundering scheme.

Hearing of this atrocity, the President (who is unnamed in the novel) calls for a change of direction in the War on Drugs. He feels compelled to take drastic measures against drug trafficking because his challenger, J. Robert Fowler, has rallied the public behind the administration’s failure to curb the drug trade.

The president initiates covert operations within Colombia and a step-up of operations against aircraft believed to be distributing narcotics. Three major players help the plan reach fruition:

Calista Flockhart Harrison Ford Met At 2002 Golden Globes, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart tied the knot in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Tuesday, the actress’ rep confirms to UsMagazine.com. The ceremony took place at the Governor’s mansion, where Governor Bill Richardson officiated, the rep added.
Together ever since, the pair are now parents to Liam, the boy whom Flockhart adopted in January 2001. Nuptial rumors have been percolating since early last year, when it was reported that Ford proposed over Valentine’s Day weekend.

It’s the first marriage for the Brothers and Sisters actress. Ford has been married twice before (to Mary Marquardt and screenwriter Melissa Mathison) and has four biological children, plus three grandchildren.

This past January, Ford gushed to Parade about the “joy” of his life with his fiancee and adopted son Liam, now 9. “On the weekends, I do whatever Calista and Liam want to do…We’ll take a couple of hours on Sunday morning to go motorcycle riding or go for a hike. I just made a birdhouse with my son.”

Ford added: “I think Liam was about 6 or 8 months old when I met him and Calista. We have been together ever since.”

Harrison Ford And Calista Flockhart, Calista Kay Flockhart (born November 11, 1964) is an American actress who is primarily recognized for her work in television. She starred as Kitty Walker McCallister on the ABC drama, Brothers & Sisters. Flockhart is the wife of actor Harrison Ford.

The ceremony was presided over by Governor Bill Richardson and New Mexico Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Daniels.

Hangover 2, File this one under the most bizarre news of the month … Mel Gibson has landed a small role in The Hangover 2. New York Post reports Gibson will play a tattooist in the sequel the most cost-effective R-rated of all time.

Gibson, at least briefly, will join returning stars Hangover Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, and Ken Jeong. The hangover 2 finds the boy’s travel to Thailand where they run into Gibson’s character in Bangkok.

Gibson is still in legal difficulties because of alleged threats he made against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The 54-year
Actor has not been seen much on screen in the last decade, and his most recent film, Edge of Darkness, and only pulled in 45 million during its theatrical release in full (it had a budget and 60 million).

Filming is underway on The Hangover 2 with Warner Bros. set a May 26, 2011 date of release.
