Independence DayIndependence Day, Independence Day the country’s 65th was celebrated in the world with millions of Pakistani expatriates reach by deploying the green and white flag and singing the national anthem in a show of unity and strength. Flag hoisting formal celebrations were held in all embassies and consulates in Pakistan, and people hoisted the national flag at their homes and businesses abroad.
Messages official ceremonies were received from Berlin, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kabul, Nairobi, Ankara, Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul and many other places. The ambassador’s hoisted national flags that the embassy staff and the Pakistani community living in the respective countries sang the national song. Prayers were offered for the security, economic progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Messages of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani were read and young children dressed in traditional costumes presented national songs and folk dances.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Germany, Shahid Kamal urged the Pakistani community to maintain unity in their ranks and to develop closer links with the German people to promote friendship between the two countries.
Pakistan’s ambassador to France Shafkat Saeed urged the congregation to renew its commitment to work for progress, prosperity and well being of Pakistan.
ChargĂ© d’affaires Wajid Hassan Hashmi congratulated the community, and prayed for prosperity and renew their commitment to serving their country with great force.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia Masood Khalid said the day was a reminder to all to protect the hard-won freedom and work for the modern and progressive nation. He asked them to be true ambassadors of Pakistan, winning the hearts and minds and command respect and good will through their strength of character and acts of kindness.
He also praised the meritorious services of Pakistanis who have achieved distinction and brought laurels for their country for their professional excellence in various fields in Malaysia.
He particularly mentioned distinguished Pakistani Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Mumtazuddin present on the occasion, for his outstanding work with the Dental Association of Malaysia and become the first Pakistani to receive all the prize of the leading health professionals in 2011 it conferred by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, UK.
He also acknowledged the hard work of young Asma Iqbal, becoming the first Pakistani woman in Pakistan to complete a PhD in infectious diseases at the University of Malaya.
Sohail Mahmood Ambassador to the vision of Bangkok said Quaid-i-Azam and his inspirational leadership that has made Pakistan a reality and stressed the importance of unwavering commitment to the principles of unity Quaid, faith and discipline in the fight against all challenges.
Leading Thai newspaper NAEW Na produced a special supplement on Pakistan Independence Day. Besides focusing on Pakistan and Thailand bilateral relations, he stressed the aspects of the movement of Pakistan, the economy, the textile industry, the SME sector, and tourism potential.
Charge d’Affaires Mansoor Ahmad Khan has asked Pakistan to Kabul to maintain the spirit of independence and scholarship goals cherished ancestors to make Pakistan strong and prosperous.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Haroon Shaukat informed the Pakistani community on recent developments in Pakistan and Turkey and urged them to continue to play an active role in bringing the two countries closer.
Indonesian Ambassador Sanaullah asked the community to follow the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to achieve the desired progress and devleopmeng Pakistan.
High Commmissioner Singapore Syed Hasan Javed said that Pakistan stands tall among the comity of nations and has been successful in several areas. He said he was a center of investment because of its rich mineral resources and stressed that more than 700 multinational companies operating in Pakistan.
