Hood To Coast, Standard Insurance Company (“The Standard”) announced today its sponsorship of the first team of disabled service members competing in iconic Hood Oregon to broadcast the coast. These men and women service members who were seriously injured in conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The sponsorship, in cooperation with the U.S. Disabled Sports & Athletes Foundation contested allows the participation of “Team Sports Warfighter” in the chapel of the Costa del relay. The team comprises 12 runners, 11 men and one woman, who are amputees, blind, post-traumatic experience, has severe muscle damage or other physical injuries. Armed with the latest technology, appliances and even a hand cycle, these 12 brave service members challenge other teams 1200 people without disabilities to the competition of his life – grueling race Hood to Coast relay 197-miles.

“Disabled Sports USA Sports Warfighter Series” is a challenging program of events to help military service members with permanent disabilities such as amputations, spinal cord injuries, visual impairment and brain injury traumatic, train and challenge themselves in extreme and endurance sports.

Our Sports Warfighter Series provides this – to help them not only survive their injuries, but to thrive and succeed personally and professionally. ”

Hood to the coast starts at 6:30 am, Friday, August 27 at Timberline Lodge.
