Holly SweeneyHolly Sweeney, Rory McIlroy plays the Open Championship last week have broken up with his girlfriend Holly Sweeney. Company U.S. Open champion Administration tonight issued a statement saying, “long Rory McIlroy in relation to Holly Sweeney ended amicably before the Open Championship.” The couple had a period of separation earlier this year, but 20-year-old student of Sweeney, a cheerleader of the Ulster rugby team, was in Augusta to greet him after his hopes of winning the Masters were crushed by a closing 80. He did not attend the U.S. Open last month, where he earned his first major title in an incredible eight shots with a record score, but tweeted, “My boyfriend has played great without problems throughout the week!

“Drinking to Northern Ireland, which has made us proud! Champagne flowing. Sooo happy for the curly one! First major down millions to go!”

Last night BBC television screened a documentary showing the pair together on his return from Washington.

Sweeney met with world number four when he was 15 and was playing with friends at Hollywood club on the outskirts of Belfast.
In his division before he said: “I want to put my golf this time you must do what is right for you.”

His break was reported that family and friends caught in the act.

McIlroy was the favorite for the event last week, but his attempt to become the youngest champion in 1893 opened it altogether ended the 25 position and it sounds unlikely that will ever win in poor conditions.

“I’m not a fan of the tournaments in which the outcome is expected by both the time – not my kind of golf,” said the 22-year-old.

“I have really wanted to return to America and back in a nice condition.

“I’d rather play when it’s 80 degrees and the wind from the sun and not much – and there’s about to change his game for a week each year.”

Fellow Ulsterman Darren Clarke won the Claret Jug, and has been seen as a kind of mentor to the young McIlroy since curly hair attended to his foundation for young people.

Stable Clarke was asked today what kind of help you could offer and McIlroy said: “There are lots of tips, but I’m not going to share with you.

“I will share with him in the coming weeks and what you have, but in terms of what you can do, is so talented, more talented than anyone on the planet, so you can do with a golf ball.

“It’s just a little intuition perhaps, maybe a bit of direction from his former mentor is pointing in the right direction, and he will be fine -. That will be fine.”

The couple, both the set that comes in the Irish Open at Killarney from week Thursday.
