Jack Lord, John Joseph Patrick Ryan, better known as Jack Lord, American television, Broadway and film actor. He was best known for his starring role as Steve MacGarrett in the U.S. police drama Hawaii Five-O from 1968 to 1980. Garrett was a distinguished stage and film actor has appeared in Man of classic western films. He also played Felix Leiter in the James Bond film Dr.No in 1962 starring Sean Connery.

He was known for his role as Detective Steve MacGarrett in Hawaii Five-O, and its popularity catapulted him to the popular phrase, “Book em ‘Danno,” his character on the screen used by his trusted assistant, Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, played by the legendary James MacArthur, who died Oct. 28. The actor was 72. Jack Lord had an interest in visual arts and with his brother Bill opened the Academy of Arts of the people, while New York University. In his later years Jack Lord suffered Alzheimer’s disease and died of heart failure, 21 January 1998, leaving behind his trusted aide. The two have left a void in the world of action that will to be difficult to fill.

James Macarthur

James Macarthur, James MacArthur, who played Danno in the original “Hawaii Five-0” – the role now played by Scott Caan in the new version of the CBS – died this morning. He was 72.

The actor’s agent, Richard Lewis, told the Associated Press that MacArthur died of “natural causes” in Florida, but other details were given.

MacArthur was more famous for his role as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams on “Hawaii Five-0”, which often ended episodes with the phrase “Book ’em, Danno.” It was in 11 seasons of the series from 1968 to 1980 and 1997 pilot for a new “Hawaii Five-0” starring Gary Busey (if you can imagine), Russell Wong, and Steven Flynn. He played the same character, but Danno had become governor of Hawaii.

More than four decades, MacArthur amassed roles in films and television. He starred in the 1960 version of “Swiss Family Robinson”, and appeared in several other films in recent years, including ‘Kidnapped’, ‘Battle of the Bulge “” The Bedford Incident, and Em’ hang ‘High’.

The guest artist on many television programs as well, including “The Love Boat,” “Murder, She Wrote ‘,’ The Adventures of Superboy”, “Las Vegas”, “Fantasy Island,” “Bonanza,” “Tarzan,” ” Gunsmoke,”The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, “and” Climax! “his first role.

His last role was in the 1998 TV movie “Storm Chasers: Revenge of the Twister.”

MacArthur was the adopted son of actress Helen Hayes and writer Charles MacArthur. It was supposed to film an episode of the new “Hawaii Five-0”, but unfortunately, it seems as if the movie in time. That’s a shame.
