Flood In Haridwar, NEW DELHI: Following the worsening flood situation in various parts of northern India, northern and central northern railway canceled several trains bound for Haridwar and Dehradun on Monday, while some others were diverted or Short completed at several stations.

The measures were taken after landslides were recorded between sections of Haridwar-Motichur, speeding between Raisi-Balawali Moradabad in the division, said a Northern Railway spokesperson.

According CPRO (North Rail), Manish Tiwary, the Delhi-Saharanpur and Delhi-Haridwar passenger trains have been canceled for the day by Chennai-Dehradun Express and Dehradun-Saharanpur railway passengers.

Railways have initiated support services in Haridwar, Dehradun and Moradabad to assist passengers affected by the floods under the instructions of Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, said the spokesman.

Railways have the tickets already booked will be revalidated in the next convenient time as the request of passengers.

The spokesman said the Jammu Tawi-Howrah Express via Saharanpur Himgiri will be diverted via Saharanpur-Meerut-Hapur-Moradabad while Jammu Tawi-Kathgodam Garibrath Express, Jammu Tawi-Sealdah Express and Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express trains have been diverted to Saharanpur-through-Hapur Meerut. Amritsar-Saharsa Jan Sewa Express has been diverted via Ambala-Panipat-Delhi-Ghaziabad-Hapur-Moradabad.

Meanwhile, the New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express was short and ended in Haridwar passenger train in Laksa Moradabad-Saharanpur Junction. The Express-Ahmedabad Haridwar also been short terminated at Saharanpur, he said.
