Grandparents DayGrandparents Day, Not just a day to honor September 11, 2001 victims and their families but also their families own 11-September is also National Grandparents Day, and this year its 32 anniversary.

As Mother and Father’s Day, today is a time to reflect on those who came before you and love you hold so dear.

According to Grandparents.com, President Jimmy Carter signed for the first time announced the creation of a National Grandparents Day in the 1970’s, and said the grandparents “are usually free to love and guide and friend of the young without having to take daily responsibility for them, they can often reach out past pride and fear of failure and close the gap between generations “and that the party recognizes” the importance and value of 17 million grandparents in our nation. ”

In a recent statement from the White House, Obama has also declared today a day for those who always early and powerful influence in our lives.

“The National Grandparents Day, we honor the loving presence of those mentors who have contributed greatly to the strength of our families and our nation,” Obama said in a statement of 09 September. “As a country, we understand that our welfare is determined by that of all Americans, and it is our responsibility to keep our grandparents as they have done for us. We must keep Social Security strong and viable, while preserving for future generations. We must strengthen Medicare, making common sense changes that promote high quality care and expense of e-waste. ”

“After a lifetime of contributions to our nation and its economy, older people have earned this support,” he said. “I call upon all Americans to take the time to meet their grandparents and their community.”
