George Takei: Takei’s ‘Apprentice’ Ouster, George Takei may have lost out on becoming the “Celebrity Apprentice” when he got the sack on Sunday night by Donald Trump, but the “Star Trek” legend is following it up with a new gig – working for Ellen.

“I had a very unique firing,” George told Access Hollywood Live’s Kit Hoover and guest co-host Chris Harrison of “The Bachelor.” “Everybody loved me, they respected me, and I’m not with ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ anymore, however Ellen DeGeneres liked me and she’s hired me.”

Asked to explain what his gig is with Ellen, George said he’s helping her out on her show.

“What I’m doing for Ellen, is I’m selling her products – her T-shirts, mugs and shorts — men and women,” he said.

“[I’m selling] to her audience there, going up and down the aisle. So, I am still gainfully employed,” he said of an upcoming “Ellen DeGeneres Show” bit.

As for his “Apprentice” firing, George still stands by the window set up his team of men created.

“I still maintain that we had the classier window. We had an elegant, glamorous show window and I think the women had a much messier — a very busy two windows,” he said. “We had a visually clean elegant show window. We were 5th Avenue and they were 34th Street.”
