Moammar Gadhafi, (CP) – British Foreign Secretary William Hague said there are strong indications that the Libyan Muammar Gaddafi has left the country and is en route to Venezuela. Hague said he saw “information to suggest (Gaddafi) is on its way yet.” He was speaking after a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday in which they strongly condemned the Libyan authorities for their crackdown against pro-democracy demonstrators.

But EU foreign policy, Catherine Ashton has rejected the application of The Hague, saying she knew nothing about it.

EU officials who attended the ministerial meeting also described the report as “unfounded rumors.”
