Fred The Movie, Fred Figglehorn, Fred Figglehorn likes to say, you are probably very old, or something.

And Fred, with his striped shirt and nerdy high, sometimes annoying voice that falls somewhere between the sound of fingernails scratching a blackboard, and Pee Wee Herman on steroids, is probably correct.

But if the age of 18 for the south, and like most teenagers, you spend public life on the computer, and then Fred is a hot thing going with Justin Bieber.

Fourteen year old girls want to hug him. Children’s clothing items designed to sell his stupid t-shirts. The fans have clicked on their YouTube channel over 500 million times.

Now Fred, creating gentle, modest primary school in the state of Nebraska named Lucas Cruikshank, is about to unleash the general public (ie, all of us “too old” people).

“Fred: The Movie”, a 90-minute, big-budget expansion of short webisodes Cruickshank produced in his bedroom, the last four years, will debut on the Nickelodeon cable network on Saturday at 20:00 EDT.

This is not the first attempt to expand the Internet phenomenon in the media. Internet popular duo Ryan Higa and Sean Fujiyoshi were also found on YouTube a few years ago and the subsequent 2008 film “Ryan and Shawn not so Excellent Adventure.” He grabbed a little attention, however, received only two reviews of the site rottentomatoes.com movie. One who dismissed as “painfully unfunny” and others call it “worse than the surface.

Nickelodeon hopes “Fred” a lot better.

First, if you can handle that speed Urkel voice, Cruickshank is really fun.

“He has this kind of internal awkward geek who is actually in this moment,” says Jennette McCurdy, actress 18 years old, who plays the best friend of Fred, Bertha. “He was, but at the same time was something that just kind of unusual and strange, I think it really sucks people in.”

And, unlike most popular webcast that parodies the role or song takeoffs on films or people just do silly things, shows the history Cruickshank set back and fully formed characters, including the loving father, but certified insane and picturesque, but a loyal best friend, Berta. Then there’s Judy, a beautiful girl, popular, unknown to her, this love for the life of Fred.

Always behind the webcam in a series, the characters play a great comic effect in the film wrestler John Cena, McCurdy and British pop star Pixie Lott.

“What Lucas did what any other boy really, and even many adults are not able to do is install a new symbol that has resonated with people rather than an opportunity,” said Marjorie Cohn, president of Development and Original Programming, Nickelodeon for children and MTV and the family group.

Cruickshank, in turn, said that all he intended to do is put some videos on the web site to ridicule those who seemed to feature little more than an anonymous soul fills his heart.

Although he wanted to be an actor and a writer during the time he could remember, he never thought that many people looked at them. In fact, says that almost no one has said that he does.

“Because it’s just kind of strange sounds,” says Cruikshank, unlike Fred is very calm.

He was more than a little surprised when people began to appear in the small rural town 90 minutes from Omaha to knock and ask to meet Fred.

As a result, he does not want to reveal too much about myself these days, despite the fact that volunteers from his mother is a nurse, and her father, male executive, or something in this plant in my town. ” He is the fourth of eight children.

“He got a jillion brothers and sisters, so it has a very reasonable person,” said McCurdy, who was one of the stars in the hit kids TV show “iCarly.”

“He’s not Hollywood at all,” he adds, means that the better.

But Cruickshank, who turned 17 last month, said he may have to move to Hollywood in the near future. He recently signed a contract to develop a series of Nickelodeon. He will not play Fred and the other an eccentric, a child who does not let his classmates that he was really from outer space.

Until then, however, will focus on his high school in Nebraska. He is studying algebra, chemistry, Spanish, journalism and theater.

“Quite interesting, eh?” He added with a laugh.
