FIFA Club World Cup, Lionel Messi has led Barcelona to FIFA Club World Cup triumph as the Catalans destroyed Brazilian side Santos 4-0 in the Tokyo final.

Who is better: Barca’s Messi or Neymar of Santos? That was the hot topic of debate between football legends Diego Maradona and Pele before the kickoff.

But the fate game was already decided after the first half, in which the Europeans scored three unanswered goals.

Messi was always in the middle of action for Barcelona. And it was no wonder that it was the Argentine who gave his team the lead on 17th minute, chipping the ball over Brazilian keeper, Rafael Cabral, after a lovely assist from Xavi, 1-0.

Just seven minutes later, Xavi doubled the Spanish team’s lead, firing into the corner from the center of the Santos’s box.

Messi set up an attack, in which Cesc Fabregas netted after on rebound seconds before the halftime break, 3-0.

Meanwhile, Neymar did not get much of ball, and when it finally happened he relied on his individual skills, failing to come up with any unsolvable puzzles for the Catalan defenders.

The 19-year-old’s biggest achievement was when he forced Uzbek referee Ravshan Irmatov to show a yellow card to Gerard Pique.

Neymar also had his team’s best scoring chance after the break, but could not find the back of the after breaking one-on-one with Barcelona’s keeper, Victor Valdes.

Symbolically, it was Messi again, who settled the final score of 4-0, completing his brace on 82nd minute.
