The Santa Clause, Santa can not pretend traditional winter here, so why bother trying; it’s a little logic to Parkers ‘Lighthouse’ Santa Claus Is Sailing to Town … on a yacht! “An event that takes place this Saturday, organizers say. The breakfast event at Miller Children’s Hospital in many ways.

“It’s something we did for the community over the past 20 years,” said Michael Cole, CEO Parkers. “We have a very good relationship with the hospital.”

From 8:00 to 11:00, Parkers’ menu will be served a special breakfast. All proceeds will go to Miller Children’s Hospital. He is the only time of year that the restaurant is open for breakfast.

Santa Claus will arrive at 9 am to interact with the family – but his arrival and departure will be far from traditional.

“It comes in a full-on – almost 50 feet – Yacht,” said Brett Beck, spokeswoman for Memorial Medical Center Foundation. “He comes to the horizon, speeding in Rainbow Harbor. It’s pretty funny, because you are not accustomed to seeing him that way. It is a very California vacation.”

Santa will be taking pictures with children and help collect unwrapped presents for a special collection of toys that benefit those who must stay in hospital.

“There are children who do not leave the hospital on Christmas Day, and then they spend here,” said Beck. “Many of these families can not afford a great gift, so it kind of compounds the situation.

“These toys, gifts and gift cards – all the things donated – are very important to them.”

The money rose – between $ 5,000 and 10,000 and in the past – will be put towards the expansion of the neonatal intensive care, cancer program and motherhood program, organizers said.

“We have a program for strengthening all three areas is happening right now, they are directing the product for that,” said Beck.

Parker’s officials said they expect 300 to 400 people to attend. Reservations are full, but they will take Walkup where possible, and people are invited to stop interacting with Santa or to make a toy.

“Last year we really felt the recession … but all of a sudden he is back in force, “said Elaine Doran, Parkers’ Lighthouse Community Affairs Manager.” We hope that Santa will be well supported. ”

Young people at breakfast will also be encouraged to send messages to those who are in the hospital during the holidays.

“Children will make cards – each get a card to fill out as they eat and then (the cards) sent to the hospital,” said Doran.

There will be opportunity drawings several awards, like the car of an electric children and tickets to Disneyland. Tickets will cost and 5 for each drawing. Poly High School Jazz Combo group performing holiday favorites.

“They will serenade Santa as he arrives,” said Doran.

At the end of the event, Santa will ride away on a Mercedes Benz, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of Long Beach, with all the toys to be taken to the hospital.

The event will be held 8:00 to 11:00 this Saturday, Dec. 4, at Parkers Lighthouse, 435 Shoreline Village Dr. Santa Clause will be available 9:00 to 11:00 Breakfast will cost 8.95 and for adults and 6. 95 for children 12 and under.
