Family RadioFamily Radio, Harold Camping, founder and president of Family Radio Stations, apologized for misleading the Christians for decades on his teaching on the rapture.

The term “rapture” is never mentioned in the Bible, however fundamentalist Christians say that the word refers to a biblical event where those who have trusted Christ as their Savior are trapped in the air to meet him.

After the Rapture, some believe that the Antichrist will rule for seven years, giving way to a world government.

Many Christian scholars have declared it impossible to predict the specific date of the rapture. They point to the words of Jesus in the Bible where it says: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”

In the camping years has been the prediction of specific dates for the return of Christ. The first prediction for the end of the world was September 6, 1994. This years camp provides two different dates, May 21 and then October 21.

When the May deadline came and went, several Christian leaders called for the elimination of Christian Radio family camping. Also asked by a group of atheists in a congressional investigation into their claims.

Bob Seidensticker, with atheists in Seattle, said: “There must be consequences. For this radio network to be financially healthy when they have caused many listeners in poverty or distressed – what is wrong. We want a way for those affected by this predicted to occur in order to be compensated by Family Radio. ”

Seidensticker also called on Congress to investigate whether Family Radio received any economic benefit to the demands of camping.

In the days following the May forecast, Camping suffered a stroke, causing some in the Christian community to speculate that the disease may have been a sign of God’s Judgement for their false predictions.

After Christ did not come back again on 21 October, the Family Radio website removed all references to the predictions of camping. In an interview with The Christian Post on October 24, it was revealed that no longer carry the camping ministry.

In a statement regarding his previous statements about the return of Christ Camping said, “I’ve been told I have said in May that the people who did not believe that May 21 should not be the date of the rapture, probably had not been saved . I should not have said that and I apologize for that. “
