Evans Vs Ortiz

Evans Vs OrtizEvans Vs Ortiz, What a night of fights. From a young candidate paving the way for a title shot in a strange choice in shorts 133 UFC fight turned out to be a memorable night of mixed martial arts competition.

In the main event of the night, Rashad Evans proved once again that it is light # 1 heavyweight in the world. Established despite lacking the title, its dominant performances along with a wealth of experience and highly competitive range of Evans has held over division champion, including the UFC, Jon Jones. While his competition tonight could not have been on par with their past opponents, Evans easily won the fight and won most of their chance for the championship of £ 205.

While Tito Ortiz won the fight, it did prove one thing. Is back. Now that may seem strange to say, but let’s see he was struggling. Easily the best fighter in the division with nearly 14 straight months of preparation leading into the fight. Ortiz was only a month to prepare for an attack on one of the best fighters ever grace the Octagon. His legacy was not tarnished, and frankly, it was supposed to win this fight. You need a freak accident to take Rashad Evans, Ortiz and style is not prone to accidents strangers. Ortiz probably is not in any top 10 lists of rankings, but we should be proud of what we accomplished this summer. We should all be proud of him.

While Ortiz has shown that there is no need to hang up the gloves yet, the same cannot be said of Jorge Rivera. The more experienced fighter in the struggle against Constantine Philippou did not show much fight. He is getting up there in age and their actions are showing. I hope his retirement after this loss, whether voluntary or forced.

Someone who will not force retirement, despite three consecutive losses, its Yoshihiro Akiyama. That can contribute to two reasons: exciting fights (win or lose) and ticket sales. The first reason is self-explanatory fighters; many of them lost records to get another chance if they are particularly entertaining to watch, but the second reason is a bit less obvious.

Yoshihiro Akiyama is not a name most North American fans, casual and equally, however, in Japan, man is a celebrity. Living up to Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture in the land of the rising sun makes the UFC to keep an important work. Giving a good as him with a planned trip to Japan in 2012 would be an absurd mistake; especially while waiting for the Japanese UFC mixed martial arts promotions are slowly dying a painful death.

Rory MacDonald is a fight that makes sense now, and is the winner of Carlos Condit and BJ Penn. Either fight would be a big step for the young contender. A match against Condit would give the opportunity to correct the only loss in his career against Penn and is always so commercial as it is significant. In addition, the conflict is meaningless. MacDonald is a dangerous opponent for anyone and their loss of Condit (the only setback of his career) was a one-sided beating before Condit surprised the world with a comeback. I hope we get to see this guy take over the top on its way to the title. It would be an ideal successor for GSP released once the welterweight boss decides to hang the gloves or take them to the middleweight division.

Dennis Hallman…. ok. What were you using? Well, they were what I call Spankies. Tighty whities were, they were blue. Strangely enough, that fit perfectly into a cage containing shaving the chest in patchy hair pseudo-Australian Brian Ebersole. The two put on an impressive fight, and while the two are probably beyond the moment of his career in a championship fight makes sense, keeping both in the cage against the wily veterans like themselves makes it fun and interesting fights. Maybe a fight with Matt Serra is on the cards of one of them.

Now showing of the night, Chad Mendes beat Rani Yahya pretty impressive sound dismantling of Joe Rogan acknowledged verbally Yahya jiu jitsu game and Alexander Gustafsson showed he is ready for top competition in the division of £ 205. Despite taking a couple of good punches in the face, Mauler Hamitt walked through with little effort.

In all it was an amazing night of fights. An exciting treat for the eyes and ears, but looking back with thoughts Sober is the only way to understand the intracacies fights.
