Eamonn Keane 305,300 LbsEamonn Keane 305,300 Lbs, Most Weights Lifted by Dumbbell Flyes: Eamonn Keane sets world record, Louisburgh, Co Mayo, Ireland — Louisburgh weightlifter Eamonn ‘Ironman’ Keane managed to lift an astonishing 40,600 kg in sixty minutes in the Louisburgh GAA club gym – setting the new world record for ‘Most Weights Lifted by Dumbbell Flyes’ in an hour, according to World Records Academy (www.worldrecordsacademy.org).

The previous Guinness world record for the most people dressed as sunflowers was 116 set at The Nursery on the Green in London, UK.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people dressed as Robin Hood: 1,119 at Castle Green, Nottingham, UK.

A unique piece of world record history was made in Mayo, when Eamon Keane, a local Primary School Teacher, became the first man ever to to complete the Guinness World Record Superhuman Strength Challenge (“”The Big 5″”).

The 5 world records were:
1. 1 Hour Bench Press
2. 1 Hour Barbell Squat
3. 1 Hour Deadlift
4. 1 Hour Military Press
5. 1 Hour Incline DumBell Flyes.

“I’d love to be doing them injury free but there’s a certain satisfaction to doing them when you’re injured too,” explained the National School teacher. “It’s mind over matter in a lot of ways.”

World Gym founder Joe Gold, a mentor to people like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Incredible Hulk actor, Lou Ferrigno, said after
he broke his first record: “Eamonn Keane has something I’ve never seen in another human being.”
“His one hour bench press of 305,300lbs is absolutely amazing and is a record that just might never be broken. It proves he is the greatest endurance strength athlete who has ever walked on planet Earth. He is 100 per cent natural and an Irish gentleman.”
